We keep on hearing that 'the defendant admits killing but denies murder'.
Therefore what is difference between manslaughter, killing, accidental killing, killed on grounds of deminished responsiblilty, 2nd degree murder, 1st degree murder or just plain old murder.?

His babies mama told him last night that he had to go to court on March 21. He hasn't been issued a supena or served with papers. He also has another court case in traffic court on the same day 2 counties away. If he doesn't go to traffic court then he will probably loose his job, ,becuase it will be 6 points on his liscense. He has no idea about the court date for child support though. Is he required to go if he hasn't been served? Is there anyway he can get the court dates pushed back or forward? He really needs to make both apperances.....

Hope someone can help with my options......

I was caught speeding on the M62 two weeks ago by an unmarked police vehicle. My average speed was 96.48mph. I was told by the West Yorkshire Police officer that due to my average being over 95mph he was unable to issue me with a speeding ticket and that the matter would now be dealt with by the Magistrates. I believe I could be looking between 3-6 penalty points and a minimum fine of £60.

As I live in Manchester the prospect of travelling to Leeds for the court summons is something I am not looking forward to due to managerial work commitments. I am 28, have never been caught speeding before and this is my first motoring offence.

I believe there is an option not to appear in court and to accept whatever the Magistrates throw at me. Would appearing in court increase my chances of a more lenient decision regarding points and fines?

Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks

Mr B

I'm just wondering..if I call the police because a person commits a crime...he will more likely ends up in jail or something...

What if he comes out of jail? Will he take revenge (like killing me or someone who calls the cops on him)?

I want to call the cops on someone, but I'm afraid he might takes revenge when he's out of jail...I'm scared..do you think the police will protect my family (especially my little sister) and me after he leaves the jail?

The guy molested my little sister, so I'm calling the cops..

as i have no confidence in the british police force. i have to say that if that was possible, i would have to meet certain criteria ie no criminal record and i would be obliged to register any fire arms i own with the police and have a secure armoury for them surely i have a basic right to protect my family

That could be a scary thing especially if the cop had only a high school diploma and was on power trip. That could happen and has happened especially now in this day and age. I know that they used to test the policeman psycologically every so often especially the cops that were extremely mean to the criminals. My youngest brother is a highway patrol graduated with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement. Knowledge is power. I take my hat off to these guys. The jobs and the things law enforcement employees have to go through. You could not pay me enough money to put my life on the line every day like these guys do. Somebody has to do it and they do it. I thank them and god bless them for it.
