If they didnt pull you over right away then you will not get a ticket. Only the cameras can mail you a ticket and those are mostly for running red lights. If you were speeding and an officer got you on the gun, he would have come after you right away.

generally with speed guns (not vans with mobile speed cameras), you will be waved-down further up the road by colleagues - if you are only a few MPH over, you will be ignored - more than 10-15mph over is usually the lower limit, & its often said that tne generally allowed leeway used to be 10%+2mph - 35 in a 30, 68 in a 60 etc . You were on a dual carriageway = 79 in a 70 zone as a minimum would normally be allowed (rare police discretion these days, I'm afraid) - otherwise they'd have to stop everyone. Normal practice is to show the gun's readout to the driver - I reckon that you're okay (I'm a UK Policeman), but the events have obviously preyed on your mind - so maybe you'll be more careful next time you drive .....which is the idea ~ prevention is better than cure!

They don't have to stop you there and then but if they don't they have to send the registered keeper a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days. The registered keeper is the one on the registration document. (Even if that's not you once they post that letter they can come looking for you after the fourteen days so long as they posted the notice to the registered keeper.) 14 days is the magic number.
If you were driving don't deny it. If you do and they get evidence that you have done that you will commit a much more serious offence. You won't be getting a speeding fine, you will go to prison for perverting the course of justice.
Cross your fingers and hope no notice arrives but if you get the notice don't lie, it isn't worth a spell in prison.

if you do not receive a summons in the post within 14 days you should not get one at all,
the police officer and the hand held gun are all that's needed to bring a prosecution
if you were only just over the speed limit you normally are only warned or not even stopped, they usually look for the driver who is well over the limit

It's unlikely, as it was a hand held speed gun, the police officer would have flagged you down to stop if he wanted to speak to you about your speed. So don't worry you are in the clear.

yeah, you are caught. there was a video camera set up in the van to record your registration number and they will also provide photographic proof that you were in the drivers seat. the speed limit on a duel carriageway is 70 mph and the speedgun usually allows 10% in case your speedo was off. if you were doing less than this you may be lucky. you will be notified by post

If you were only slightly over the limit and they didn't bother stopping you then you wont get done normally. They could have just been calibrating the gun. They dont have to prove you were driving they serve you a notice obliging you to provide details of driver.
