I've tied down Sofas, Mattresses, tables, etc?

I was just curious is this practice legal. Even if you have fully tied it down to the top of the car? I've even passed by police doing this and they don't pull me over? I live in maryland.

My neighbours are absolutely horrible. Besides the constant pounding music, screaming, yelling, and parties, they let their 3 pitbulls run wild without leashes. Not only am I concerned for their 3 yr old child's safety, but also for ours and the rest of our neighbourhood's. Besides safety, when they run into our yard, they use it as a toilett, and their urine often kills the plants there. I know problems come in the territory of living in a bad neighbourhood, but it needs to stop. It's just rude. If we call the police, can they legally make it stop? I live in Michigan and the leash laws here are kind of ambiguous, so if anyone knows, please tell me :)

Someone very close to me was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and has a 3rd degree felony. Is that the worst? Or is it a 1 st degree felony? And what is the difference between a 1st 2nd or 3rd degree felony and a State Felony? Sorry, I'm just trying to understand this case....

I understand people who deal with murders and gang bangers and actually get shot at, have a reason. But why are small town cops always thinking they are all powerful. Are they rude from the amount of speeding tickets they have to write?

This revised question is in respond to most of the respones I have recieved on this question:

Your car window was smashed and your stuff stolen.
One of the things stolen is a cell phone.
You work for the Cell phone company and through new techknowlegy you find out who stole your stuff.
The police won't do anything because "There is no proof"

What would you do?

i am the one that has the friend that has the daughter that robbed a business. she testified against her boyfriend last thursday. there was no bargain for her. she said she was guility before she even got an attorney. she wanted to confess. i guess she thought they would go easier on her. i live in pennsylvania. what will happen to her? it was armed robbery but it was a BB gun. they blew all the money on stupid stuff. the boyfriend has been held over for trial. he is out on bond right now. i feel she should have jail time. it may do her some good. her mother has done everything she can to get her on the right track. boys & drugs control her daughter's life. maybe in prison she can get help. where can i look to see what will happen in my state?

Friend was asking me because I know a little about cars but supposedly the officers performed a light bulb test on his car to test whether or not the headlights were on before the accident. The only way I can think of doing it is to actually touch the filament of the bulb to see if it was warm (indicating it was on) or off but that doesn't seem very scientific or as a solid proof they were on or off.

Does anyone know how such tests are performed on the vehicle? Explain in detail if you could. Thanks!

Two juveniles jumped in my car and took off and totaled it out when they got in a high speed chase with the police. Insurance did'nt cover all of it and I'm still left without a vehicle and the remander of my finance charge. I've also lost wages at work. What am I to do when they just let these juveniles walk. Are'nt I intitled to something? I don't have the money to hire a lawyer, do I need money up front? I need legal advice ASAP.
