Get a lawyer. You can't fight this on your own. And while you're at it, consider a divorce

its just another case of political correctness gone mad....I wonder, if I was being burgled with my children in bed, would I be sent to prison for defending my family or would I have to wait around for the police to find the rotting corpses of myself and my children? Nowadays, it seems that the victims are the bad guys, whereas the people who do wrong are the ones that end up being defended.
Its very hypocritical that with your wife being drunk, she is allowed by the law to get into her car and drive ....what if she had ran over someone whilst under the influence of alchohol, and yet you, are charged for defending your home and children.....I would defend my children any day of the week, whatever the consequences, no-one wants their children exposed to situations that aren t good for them, and we all have to do what we think is best, even if a text book wrote by mr and mrs goody two-shoes says that its not the right thing to do so I'm with you.
Hope this helps x

Does your name say it all? I know that you were trying to protect your children, but it sounds like your mother and wife were drinking together, how about you? If this is constant then you need to discuss this with your wife and tell her if this keeps up you will ask her to leave and you and the children will stay in the home. Send her to rehab there are a number in your area and make sure your MIL has no contact.
