A friend was recently a victim of domestic violence and her attacker was arrested and has since been bailed, but she has not been given any further information, despite leaving various messages with the officer dealing with it. (not having a go at the police, realise they are busy, just anxious to get some info)
Can anyone tell me what is likely to happen next, will he have been charged already or will the CPS decide on charges if any?
How long is this likely to take. If he is charged how long before he is likely to go to court?
Any info would be appriciated as she is stuggling to find out what is happening
Thanks. Molly

If your working with a gay person and he starts making flurtation comments after you told him that your not cool with it, could you sue for sexual harrasment? Its the same thing in my opinion when guys do it to women, right?

Is it possibly because they do NOTHING to reduce road deaths AND in fact cause MORE accidents through drivers paying too much attention to their dashboards instead of the road ahead? It MUST have been damning of them otherwise the report would have been published

I know someone who is still driving even though they have been banned for 12 months & has had a fine. I was just wondering what would happen to him if the police found out e.g. would he go to prison?

I am interested in how you percieve the police, and whether you think they are effective.

When responding to an emergency, Do you ever feel nervous, esp when an exchange of fire is more than likely to occur... Do you feel afraid when you have to deal with criminals that will use a weapon to resist arrest, knowing that your life could end at any minute?

I got stopped by a US Maryland Police Officer for speeding (50 in a 40 zone at 10pm at night). I gave the Officer all my details including my UK License. He asked how long I've been in the USA and I replied about 7 months now, and that a UK License is valid for up to 12 months.

He came back with a ticket not for speeding, but for driving without a License, saying I had 60 days from port of entry to change my license to a Maryland one.

This ticket has potential jail time attached to it, and according the UK USA Embassy website my UK License was valid for a whole year!

I've been in the USA since September, but I have been going back and forth for over 4 years now. I've been pulled over before and this is the first time I've encountered this.

Is the UK License still valid for 12 months in the USA? And did the Officer make a mistake when he gave me a ticket for driving without a License?

Seems an easy case to dismiss in court? Or should I start to worrying?

The card-carrying "police major", who does electrical repairs on Kinloch police cars, was arrested while going thru airport security with a loaded pistol in an ankle holster. Not a department weapon and no evidence to date of a concealed carry permit. A federal offense in any case. The police chief has since retaliated by arresting an airport contract emplyee (with a gun to his head) for doing his job of picking up trash on airport-owned land in Kinloch, which has been a dumping ground for residents. When approached by the media, the police chief refused an interview and sped away in his car, violating two stop signs.

A friend of mine believes he missed out on a job for no other possible reason than they failed a required police clearance. He believes his record to be clear but is starting to wonder. Identity theft is becoming a real hazard these days.

My 25-yr-old stepson's neighbor made a fake check and Joe (my stepson) was arrested when he attempted to cash it. I don't know the amount of the check yet. He is still sitting in jail. We live in Minnesota.
