I am currently a Special Constable in the UK and have been for 5yrs to which have aquired rank, indepentant officer status, drives police vehicles to incidents, attends jobs, have over fifty arrests and all of the paperwork to go with it. WHY do we have to go through the same process like new applicants? I personally think 'experience' over takes paper sith and four roles plays. In any other employment, when applying for a job asks do you have previous experience. I think the Centrex system which is currently used to recruit officers is false and not what actual police work is.. I have been rejected 3 times, even with help from serving and retired police officers. And YES I still want to join.
The Recruitment Department put the closing date back, twice! because " We are having trouble attracting people " Why don't they start looking at the people that give up their free time with a considerable amount experience who want to join the police
