in another state? Is there a free search I can do to find out if someone has a warrant for his arrest?

It depends on what state he lives in. Some states allow an online search and some do not. If you post the state (and county, if possible) you need to search in, I will the post the link.

If you know the state that you want to check, go to that states website and find the court or judicial link. Most states have a public link to search with for free.
