As an officer for over 30 years, I've heard complaints of:
Brutality
Uneducated
Racist
Crooked
Can be found at the donut shop
...and the list could go on.
The sad part is some people judge all officers based upon sensationalized stories put forth by the media who are looking for viewers which means money in their pockets. It doesn't matter that evidence cleared the officers of wrong-doing or that a complaint was made maliciously because somebody was mad at the officer who was doing their job.
There are no professions in this world that are routinely "attacked" more diligently than law enforcement because the profession is one with a "high profile."
Many misconceptions such as the donut issue.....Dunkin Donuts...the only COFFEE shop open 24 hours a day was a place where officers went for coffee. Even if a donut or two slipped in there...who doesn't like donuts????
A majority of officers continue their education beyond the high school diploma and hold college degrees.
The term "PIG"....the old gas masks used during the college riots when tear gas was deployed...the masks were similar to those of a pigs snout. Today's society thinks.....who knows!
Most officers take the puns or insults with a grain of salt and realize you can't please all of the people all of the time.
Hope this helps...best wishes!

Many people see the officers as bullies who abuse their position to make people do whatever they want or risk going to jail for a real or made up offense.
Police do walk around as if they are better than other people...of course so does everyone else so no big to me and I am sure if i saw from the police's eyes i would think differently but there are aspects to the police attitudes' that annoy.

In short, many people hate cops until they need one. However some people think that cops are racist, are bullies with guns, or are out to get people. there are tons of them, but those are just a few.

That they should be catching 'real criminals' instead of speeders.
Well - if you're speeding you're breaking the law.
