I would'nt blame the whole force over the few.

Corruption comes in every way, shape and form.....everywhere on this planet.....on every level you can imagine.
We, as a whole, expect way too much from officers.....they're human too.

'Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely', was said by Lord Acton.

Essentially, the greater the power you have over others, the more abusive you are liable to be. Just look in the playground: once a kid starts getting bullied-and doesn't fight back-the bullying tends to escalate. All people in positions of power have to watched carefully.

Who by?

Well, of course, 'we' the people.

It is the same thing as with anything at else in life. There are those people who are good and do what they are meant to do and then there are bad apples that give every one else a bad name. Most police fall under the first category, and I hate it when people think that all police are just out to get everyone and abuse their powers.

My son's bio dad is a cop in america and he says YES...more are corrupt than you may think. His dad was & had several "friends" to "help" out at the force. He was forced to retire when they caught him stealing $300 in fuel from the city. They (sheriff) had been watching him (Part time city deputy officer) for two years trying to "bust" him for organized crime. They weren't able to get him on any other charge but theft of gasoline! He was VERY smart...got a way with a LOT for almost 20 yrs! He even (statutory) raped his babysitter...she was 15. His wife found out and NEVER left him! The sheriff couldn't get the girl to talk! Her grandma did but since the guy scared her to death she refused to talk to anyone other than her grandma! NOTHING could be done about it. My ex had his buds take me to a room in the office where they asked me all sorts of questions about "what all did I know about HIM" during a nasty custody battle for our son. I WON! He hasn't seen his son in almost 2 yrs cuz his boy told on him!!! He lost his job shortly (like a month) after my son testified in front of the judge in his chambers alone away from his dad or anyone else who might try to intimidate him...my ex had a police officier follow me through 3 towns trying to get me to BACK off but I didn't! I turned their butts in! It took 10 cops to hold back my ex during one of the many trials he put me and my son thru! He was going to kidnap our son from me! Right in front of the judge and officiers! This action lost him a side security job that he loved every year! Jamboree in the Hills! Funny how his peers did NOT arrest him ON THE SPOT!!! If it were ANY one else he'd of been thrown in jail to ROT!!!!

Corrupt?! MANY of them are! They LOOK THE OTHER WAY when it's ONE OF THEIR OWN...

Sure their is corruption among all professions but having the kind of power a police officier has makes corruption in that career VERY dangerous for all others the corrupted encounter.

In my small hometown where I grew up in WV the police had an organized drug ring that they lead. There had been 5 murders covered up by their ring leader, the chief.

ie. A man shot 3 times in the head, ruled a suicide?!!! C'on! A 17 yr old burned to death with ALL his clothes stuffed in a bag and burnt separately after his willingness to testify against one of the cops?! Ruled a suicide?!???

They terrorized our community until that chief was forced to retire...anyone who would agree to testify against him wound up DEAD and ruled a suicide! I have NO faith in our police today! I can't tell the corrupt from the noncorrupt since it's not stamped on their foreheads...I stay away from them all.

Just like child molesters, it's just best to be on guard & watch for tall tale signs/rumors...if the neighbor was rumored to like "little boys" would you let your young son spend the night with him? have lunch alone with him? NOT! Same with cops...don't give 'em any reason to have to be face to face with YOU!

in the majority no of course not, most are hard working loyal and dependable.

But there will be some, just like some crooked store owners, crooked fishermen, crooked welders, and so on.

But over all out law enforcement are one of the best.
