Law Enforcement & Police - January 2007

I recieved a speeding ticket on 12/09/06, now it's been over a month (01/18/07) since I've mailed my ticket for a hearing. How long does it usual take to get a response?

I live in Lowell, MA. Several people have told me that the court date should be on the ticket, but for mine I had to check a box requesting one and mailed it in.

to me, the electric chair was definitely the most brutal. Having to sit and be fried until you die~ what a way to go. At least with the lethal injection you don't feel any pain....right? you just sort of drift off and pass away, don't you? Also, the firing squad was pretty brutal, as well as the gas chamber, but to me, nothing beats the electric chair.

WHAT CAN I DO IF MY EX-BOYFRIEND IN 1997 TOOK MY CHILD FROM ME AND I CANT FIND HIM AGAIN! I FOUND HIM IN 2003 HE PROMISED TO LET ME GET MY SON BUT HE DIDNT BRING HIM TO ME. I TALKED TO THE IRVING POLICE IN TEXAS BUT THEY TOLD ME IF WE WERE MARRIED I HAVE TO TAKE HIM TO COURT BUT I WAS NEVER MARRIED TO HIM, I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN ALL THESE YEARS I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I CAN'T AFORD COURT COSTS, I JUST WANT MY CHILD BACK! WE WERE TAKING TURNS KEEPING HIM AND THE DAY HE HAD HIM HE TOOK HIM. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP, I JUST WANT MY CHILD. ANY ADVICE?

This person with 0 feedback advertised a Hermes Birkin for cheap and I bought into it. Well, you can guess the rest. I received a completely different merchandise from what was advertised. Paypal and Ebay don't care. Actually they are being charged back by American Express so they try to protect their money by protecting the seller. Do you think I should file charges against this person with the police? File a small claim with the court? Is there a law protecting the consumer? Has anyone have this experience and do you have any advice for me other than to "learn a lesson and let go"? Thanks.

Yes I know, heard it before...not me but someone I know. Actually, I don't know them, but know their parents.
Ok, this is in Canada. They were caught shoplifting, taken to the local police and charged. Released after paying $500 and told to come back to court in about a month. This was in another province they were visiting. They never went back to court. So our questions are...Would the police "come get them?", put out a warrant for them, and if they apply for a passport, will they get it? I know, lots of questions, but I told them I would look it up.

If anyone is familiar with the show '24' I would like to know if there is a CTU in America considering what I'm majoring in, would be a step below what the character 'Chloe' plays. I am majoring in Public Safety Communication, and would like to take my job further. I got into a physical fight with my husband. Alcohol was involved. He provoked me into a rage and a grabbed for his throat. He choked me back. He got off of me, and then destroyed 15 glass picture frames and flipped over a dresser. I called the police because I thought he was going to destroy my entire house. The police ended up arresting me, and throwing me in jail. My husband got to stay in the nice warm house, while I froze in just a night shirt. I ended up walking in near freezing weather in just my night shirt, no shoes, no money. I walked 5 miles to get from jail to my house. 4 police cars drove past me and didn't offer to help me. This has been the most humiliating experience of my life.
