I recieved a speeding ticket on 12/09/06, now it's been over a month (01/18/07) since I've mailed my ticket for a hearing. How long does it usual take to get a response?

I live in Lowell, MA. Several people have told me that the court date should be on the ticket, but for mine I had to check a box requesting one and mailed it in.

Didn't you just ask this?If the court date is not on the ticket, call the Court house to see when it is.

Depends on how busy the court system in Lowell is. You can call the court clerk and ask if they've set a date for your hearing. If the hearing has been placed on the docket, they'll tell you. They should mail you a notice with the date and time. Usually there is a "pay or appear" date on the ticket, if that hasn't passed it would be a good idea to be in court on that day. If they made a mistake and didn't place you on the docket and you missed the P/A date, there could be a bench warrant out on you...I'd follow up first thing Monday morning!

It all depends on other cases that have been placed on the judge's docket/schedule before you. And where he's at in getting these done. It might take months before you hear anything.
Good Luck?
