RE:
Is there really a CTU (Counter Terriorist Unit) in America?
If anyone is familiar with the show '24' I would like to know if there is a CTU in America considering what I'm majoring in, would be a step below what the character 'Chloe' plays. I am majoring in Public Safety Communication, and would like to take my job further. If there is...

Every Major Police Dept in this country (and others as well) have a Counter Terrorism Unit. Government Agencies such as FBI, NSA, CIA, Homeland Security, etc. all have CTU's. Of course, you must realize that "24" is highly fictional and dramatized. Your College major is good at anyone of these Agencies. In fact the CIA is recruiting now. You can log on to www.cia.gov and apply. Go to the other sites as well and apply. What ever you do please, do not confuse "24" with real life.

There are undoubtedly several different "CTU" is the US. Some with different specialties. They also have many different job skills among their staff including intelligence analysts, logistical support, tech support, maintenance, and of course, the ever popular "door kickers". Another major which might be appropriate is Security Administration, or Organizational Security Management. Some universities offer special programs for security focusing on homeland defense.

There are "CTUs" in the US, simply put. The FBI, for example, has an umbrella anti-terrorism unit which may involve different types of anti-terrorism assets ranging from tactical units (HRT, specialty teams) to surveillance, and even to financial analysts that track suspected terrorist funding.

The FBI has a terrorist unit but I think the primary unit is the Army's Delta Force. These are the guys that spent years training to deal with terrorist on hijacked airplanes. They are incredibly difficult to get into.
Good luck to you and thanks for you interest in defending our country.
