i have a restraining order against someone that i have had for a few years. the judge usually reissues it for a year, but this time, she looked at a printout of something (not sure what) and made the restraining order permamant. i've never heard of this, and i was wondering what constitutes a permanent restraining order? i know other people who have it worse off than me (the person they have their order on is a much more damaging individual) and they have to go every year. im not complaining, im ecstatic, im just curious. thank you!

I'm afraid CPS is going to take my sister's kid. She is a hypochondriac and today at the doctor tested positive for barbituates and marijuana. Her husband is not a user and takes wonderful care of the child, but is fighting lymphoma.

If CPS should try to put her son in foster care, what are my chances of getting custody? I don't want to lose him to the system, but my husband and I only have a 2 bedroom home and 2 daughters of our own...

My concern is that he will be taken away from us. I feel he's in a bad spot now, but I don't think we could be approved to get custody of him and we can't afford to move to a bigger home. I don't know what I can do for him.

My younger sister died of a heroin overdose a few months ago. There were 11 other people in the apartment and no one did nothing. They laid her on her back after she passed out and watched her turn blue and did nothing. I have heard that one guy even robbed her as she lay dying and he left. They all lied to the police and said they didn't know she was on heroin and they went out to eat and came back and found her dead. I work for a lawyer and he says it is not a crime to not get help. They could have called 911 or took her to the E.R. or called someone to come get her. She was 18, beautiful and went to school and worked but could not get off heroin. I constantly tried to help her but she would lie to me about being clean. I am consumed with grief. Can't eat or sleep and keep thinking about getting revenge on these people. She made a mistake, but they should have helped. Police can't do anything. No one is talking. Sometimes I follow them.

Never a day passes without the government or some other outfit banning something. Eventually we won't be able to do anything without being fined or imprisoned for something some petty little hitler has decreed we shouldn't do. What would make YOU revolt and take up arms to defend your rights? The other day someone was fined £70 for droping a matchstick on the pavement! What will it take to get you to put a stop to such stupidity?

My brother was murdered and the police labeled the case a suicide. Which I know did not happen, My brother was found in his home shot in the chest, a small blood was found at the scene, onle on a area rug he was lying on and even that was a the opposite end. I have been trying to gather evidence to make the police re-open this case, should i hire attorney.

If you break into my house when my wife, daughter and I are all asleep - I will cut you up, you will never reproduce or just die, it doesn’t bother me, I know enough to get away with it, might have to stage what happened and tell a few 'white' lies but I will walk free and you will be dead!

Now that may sound harsh, but if you break the law, why do you still have human rights?

Where were my rights when you robbed me?

Should illegal immigrants be granted any rights at all. Or just removed from the country even if they will be tortured back home?

The right of Average Joe, will always be defended, and all criminals will be judged by there peers in our independent judiciary. So no chance of miscarriages’ of justice then?

What do you think?

The brazilian police force actually kill these street children like vermin, and get away with it.

Where our police force rarely kill anyone compared to other countries, and all of a sudden the do gooders are out in force.

Where are the Human Rights people and the do gooders in Brazil?

i just found out I have a warrant for my arrest for assault 1st degree. 2 days ago i got in sort of a heated wrestling match with my brother when i went to my mother's house (she was not home, just me and my brother). He came at me first with closed fists and I wrestled him to the ground. I never hit him with a closed fist nor did I initiate it.

So anyway, i left and apparently after i was gone he called the cops to report me as assaulting him. So what should I do now to handle this as painlessly as possible (i.e. not having to sit in a cell for any extended time, not having to pay bail) because I have classes I can't miss.
-appear before a judge to answer the warrant, try to get it lifted
-surrender at the station to officers and tell my side, speak perhaps to the officer who got the warrant, tell what occurred (thus admitting we had physical contact) and hope they believe and don't pursue charges
-dont admit to anything (even being there) before i talk to a lawyer

An armed "career" criminal has been shot dead by armed police.

I presume that this officer will now spend time being investigated for his actions-Why?he has carried out the job that I am helping to pay him for.He should be given a comendation not condemnation.

Am I the only person who could not give a toss about the death of a criminal?
anyone who is setting out to commit a crime whilst in posession of a gun is doing so with the intent of threatening or killing civilians.
The police should not give such people the chance to use their guns, these criminals want to live by the gun-let them die by the same means.
