If America made a law that would take away our guns, would you be in favor of it? (I wouldn't)?

It's good to see that SOME people feel the same way I do. All of you people in favor of keeping our guns...are you member's of the NRA...you should be :)

Heck no, the people that kill otehrs with guns are going to figure out a way to get guns and kill people with them thats all there is to it. If you take away our guns then how in the heck are we going to protect ourselves from the people who have bad intentions with the guns. Yes I will be joining the NRA soon. Its the democrats that are trying to take away our guns.

I would not be in favor of a law prohibiting my right to bear arms. I own guns, I am a member of the NRA, I am a student with Law Enforcement, and I would be deathly afraid of how they would truly enforce such a law.

Would anyone want the job of taking possession of these fire arms??? Heck no, most the law abiding citizens would hand over their firearms, many would become "criminals" because they will NOT give up their firearms. My father and I discussed this one night and he's a law abiding citizen, he said some of my guns were handed down to me by my father, they are historic and valuable in meaning. My guns are being passed down to my grandchildren, I would rather become a criminal than to give up what I've worked so hard for in my life and that is the RIGHT to own firearms.

SO that sums it up in a nut shell. Frightening thing is the real Criminals, those that use firearms as a crutch for their crimes will not hand over their guns leaving them in power. It will lead to more robberies, more deaths, and havoc in society.

I believe in the right to carry, I hope someday this law goes into play that you do not have to be a licensed to carry a weapon, we will see how many car jackings there are, how many rapes, it's self-defense...

THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION... but I voice it without hesitation because my beliefs on this topic are strong and unshaken.

That's a ridiculous extremist position. There is no one in "America" that wants to take "away our guns." People want gun control to keep guns that have as their only purpose the murdering of humans off the streets. Most people who favor gun control wouldn't even go that far. And the fact that the NRA continues to thrive with that propaganda of fear (oooh, let the liberals loose, they'll take away all our gunds) is sad.

(While I do not support the NRA nor its outlandish positions, as a quasi-civil-rights organization, I'm glad it's there. Just like I'm glad the ACLU is there, even if some of its positions are slightly outlandish.)

HELL NO. I don't own guns, but I want to know I can. I don't agree with gun control or regulations, and I certainly would not support that right being abolished. Like many have said, it would be a scary world without that right.

We don't need Mommy Government telling us what to do. We're adults, and we can take care of ourselves.

And no, I probably would not join the NRA.

NO, because we have the right to bear arms to protect ourselves. There are very bad people out there with guns so if they know that everyone does not bear arms we would all be in a lot of trouble (harms way), then you would have to deal with the ATF the "butt holes" of law enforcement and you don't want to go there, they will make a crime just because you have a firearm.

You should see this one skit on saturday night live -
This woman just went to a self-defense class and she wants to show her friends how she can now protect herself from some thief on the street. so she gets her high-school football playing son to act the roll of the thief, while she demonstrates her new moves on him.
She tells her son to really act rough with her like a real situation. after several times of him tossing her aside like nothing and grabbing her purse, the mom says..."ok, ok. I must not be giving it everything i've got 'cause i don't want to hurt my baby. This next move is a sure-fire one. Ok Johhny, now really come hard at me!"
Just as Johnny is about to make his move for the fifth time, Mama whips out a gun and yells. "I am armed and i will shoot".
Johnny ran out of the room before she could say another word.
Women are the ones who probably need guns the most!

Of course I wouldn't . the only people with guns would be the criminals.
There are a lot of Law biding people in Canada and the States that enjoy and own fire arms.. Me being one.
People Kill not guns.
You can kill with just about anything if you wont to bad enough.
Stricter punishment for miss users.

I doubt that people who own guns for legitimate reasons ,will ever comply with such a law. If they use the military to enforce this law, it will be the end of the USA as we know it.

I sold my two rifles when my son was born when we sat down to calculate how much it cost to hunt down a 90# deer and have it butchered and frozen. It worked out to about $70/#.
That was 38 years ago. Only now after 911 have I considered re-arming myself. And no I wouldn't join the NRA. Just another registration trap.

No, because the criminals, who do not care about the laws, would not turn their guns in. But most liberals are far too stupid to realize this.
