In the police force what kind of things would i be doing if i were an officer in "general duties" at a metropolitan station?
How would this differ to a country station?

Most likely in both cases you would be doing patrol, after a time you may go to traffic, then depending on your interest you can go into K9, detective, public relations etc. Some people love patrol and stay in that area of police work, some love to do traffic and stay in that area. Hope this helps

The same they all do: Dispatch units, sit at the front desk, do paperwork, mediate grudges between neighbors, do paperwork, direct traffic, sit at construction sites, do paperwork and chomp on donuts all day.

Worth every penny, for the slow life of boredom they live
