I have questions that will have to be asked somewhere else, but they truly are innocent questions. I just want to find a certain someone so we can talk .

I know you need a degree in criminal justice, but do you need a A.A or a B.A for probation officer? (Not parole officer)

I have several family members that are in law enforcement. So I would like to ask this here...I know their opinion.

Do the law enforcement officers within the yahoo community feel that they are now protectors of the "local, state, or federal" bank accounts? Considering that most laws now contain fines and rarely any real jail time.

Serving to act as enforcers for the mob, instead of the public interest.

At my neighborhood mailbox center, there is a clearly visible "No Soliciting" sign, we often have companies attach flyers anyway to our mailboxes. What can I do as a victim of this? What can be done to the company? Are there any steps I can take? Not sure if it depends on what state you live in, but I live in Michigan.

Follow me on this one. We pay cops' salary. We pay taxes to drive on public roads. In a sense, we pay cops to pull us over and hassle us, for driving on roads we pay to drive on! Now, is that not stupid?

(For the record, I love cops. I have friends who are cops. I asked them this question, too. They agreed with me.)

We live in a small town, and last night my boyfriend was pulled over and given a warning ticket that he had signed without reading. The officer told him that he was pulling him over for the break light being out. The officer wrote it stating that it was for speeding. But also while he was being pulled over the officer ran his record back 20 years till he could find the one accident he did have. Then also proceeded to state that one of our neighbors said that they caught us dumping trash in the apt. dumpsters. (Why would we do that when we pay for our trsh on time since we lived here he said) - We have only lived in this town little less than a year - I feel that we are being harrassed and what can we do? It is our word aginst his. Also note that the officer told him that b/c our insurance card expired that he could give him a ticket for not having a current insurance card. What kind of crap is that anyway. We abide by the law, so why the harassmnt and what can we do? Thanks 4 any help

will we be the ones they will stick in the 800 concentration camps (also Halliburton just got a rush order for more camps at 300 million plus dollars-why do we need all these camps (see this here)

Isn't 800 enough?) A woman I met was brutalized for posting a sign about an upcoming anti-Bush rally and got three months in jail. http://worldcantwait.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=842&Itemid=184
She was a cancer patient in her 50's and was beaten by 4 policeman. A friend was recently harassed and intimidated protesting peaceably with a sign ..see the scenario here

If a "good cop" allows a "bad cop" to operate, is he really a good cop? And on that premise, are there really any good cops left?

Have you seen today's Yahoo news about Donald Trump and the Flag? It says that he put up a very tall flag on the front of his home in Florida. Some "official" there, says he has to remove it, because it looks like a car dealers lot! He'll be fined $250. a day until he does! Trump's reply was that "any one in office who feels that way about our flag, shouldn't be in office".
Agree or diasagree??? (personally, I agree with Trump!)

Police Chief Fired Over 'Jelly Bellies' Memo
He Exhorted 80 Fellow Officers to Get in Shape
By TRAVIS REED, AP

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Nov. 2) - Police Chief Paul Goward was tired of looking around his department and seeing blubber hanging over the belts of some of his officers. So he sent out a memo exhorting the "jelly bellies" to shape up.

The Oct. 11 memo bruised feelings on the 80-member force, drew at least one anonymous letter of complaint from officers about the chief's management style and made his department the butt of jokes about fat cops and doughnuts.

In his memo, titled "Are You a Jelly Belly," the chief never singled anyone out, and apart from the title, didn't call anyone names.

Instead, he provided a list of 10 reasons police officers should be in shape. He said overweight police poorly represent the profession, poop out when chasing suspects and might have to resort to "a higher level of force" if a criminal got the upper hand in a fight.

Your thoughts.

Arkansas, cleburne county , July 9 1977, man shot with his own gun while having a party. all party members fingerprints on the gun...said he was showing it off. By the time the cops were called and arrived--body was already in rigormortis(July). People at party were all close relatives to each other not to victim.
None of them got arrested at the time. But 7 years later on practically the same night one brother killed the other with a rock--dead brother left 7 children behind just like the victim, the other went to prison for a long time; the next year, another brother got killed by a train on the same weekend anniversary--the weekend after July 4. the victim had $1200 dollars missing and the woman who he was going to marry was there and just got a huge diamond ring. It was her brothers who did the injustice and they all got their justice without court. Maybe cause the victim's daughter prayed and cried for 7 years for Justice. Who knows?

I got the ticket in Riverside County California on 10/05/06
And I have not received anything in the mail.
I have tried to call and I’m on hold for up to 30min.
I just want to pay it and be done with it.
Why am I not getting anything in the mail?
Does this mean I have to go to court?

The speed on the 91 West is posted @ 65mph
The cop said I was doing 80+ (that’s what he
Put on the ticket) and he also wrote me up
For “fail to attach license plates.”
I’m 26; it's my first new car, Scion XB.
I did not put the plates on cause the new car
Feeling would be gone. I was going just as fast
As the jerk next to me with the two kids
Running around inside the car with no seatbelt.
Does anyone know how much $$ I’m looking at for all
these citations? What can I expect when I go to court.
Can someone walk me through it? Thanks!!!

In October, I was at a concert. My friend talked me into snorting adderall (her prescription drug), telling me that it would give me a high. Normally, I wouldn't go along with it EVER but seeing that we were all drinking and having a good time, for some stupid reason, I went along with it. I have never done anything illegal in my life and being 27, I thought I would make a better judgement call than this but I didnt. Undercover police officers were watching us and took us to their HQ in the concert parking lot. We were issued city ordinance citations (fine of $426.50) and we were let go, free to go back to the concert grounds. According to them, we got off really easy and I know that we did. What we did was commit a felony. So I am thankful for that. But I obviously regret that night and have definately learned my lesson. My court date is coming up and I need help. I dont want to go in and plead not guilty because I did it, I'm not going to lie about that. More to come...

Like the header says, I've worked at a liquor store for nearly three years. I've always been a stickler for identifying anyone who even remotely might be underaged, and this has resulted in a few funny moments, as some were undoubtedly complimented that I'd ask for their ID. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, some guy came in just as I was ready to close up for the night. He bought cream sherry (of all things) and he went to the counter. I guess I was in a hurry. He looked familar to me, and looked my age, give or take a year (I'm 27). Rather than ask for his ID, I just asked him how old he was. He said 22, and I sold it to him. Upon locking up, I was approached by a man who said he was a detective and I'd just sold to a 19 year old. Needless to say, I was scared. I got a ticket, the cops were understanding. I have to be in court next month. This is my first offense of any kind. Does anyone have any advice? Should I get a lawyer? I live in New York.
