you can't see the school zone sign to know what time to go what speed . I do care about the lives of the kids but it was a busy traffic street and no car was going 25 mph anyways I wasn't speeding me and a guy in truck pulled over so how does he know it was me that was speeding he just go who ever stopped.

I was once given a ticket for going five miles over in a school zone (the exit to the school zone was not clearly marked on the road, and I began speeding up as I believed I was exiting the school zone). In Texas, you are allowed to take defensive driving for the dismisal of a ticket (even speeding in a school zone, such as my ticket). And although it's a tedious way to spend an afternoon, I'd highly recommend defensive driving if it's an option, because you can actually use the voucher to also get a discount on your auto insurance - I checked this with the court, the defensive driving instructor and my insurance agency, it's completely legit!

I'm not completely up on Georgia law, but I can pretty much chisel it in stone for you that a speeding violation in a school zone will NOT be dismissed. Every state in the union takes the safety of children in school zones VERY seriously. Pleading no contest in this situation won't help you, especially if you get a judge with school-aged children. Trust me on this one: Your best bet is to plead guilty, give an explanation of why you were driving so fast, assume full responsibility for your actions, and ask the court for leniency. DO NOT say you'll never do it again -- judges don't buy that. If you have an otherwise good driving record, the judge may knock it down to 10 MPH over the speed limit and may even give you a break on the school zone violation.

Since you have publically admitted to "going 45 in a 25 mph school zone", you shouldn't plead nolo. Nolo indicates that you do not feel justified in the charges against you. (No, that is not the legal definition - but it should be a conscience one)

It should go on your driving record and your insurance should go up. I would definitely recommend a driving safety course.

Oooo...20 mph over the speed limit. not good. In my state (Indiana), that would be high risk driving offense and a four point addition to your license. Automatic driver course requirement. They have video courses now at places like Blockbuster you can rent. Check with Georgia's DMV website to see what will happen.

It will go on your record, but unless your insurance looks up your record, it shouldn't find out. Don't change your address or make a claim for at least three years.

Don't fight the ticket. You can't possibly win if you were going 45 in a 25, not to mention in a school zone. Also there are no driving safety course that you can take to dismiss this kind of ticket. Pay it and get out.

unfortunately if you plead innocent the judge will be harder on you. Only hope the cop doe's not show up to Court that day. School zones are an area that police and judges like to make an example of so just put on your most apologetic face and say sorry.

No, but funny story to cheer you up, I "did not make a complete stop" at the stop sign, meaning I slowed down, damn near stopped, but not good enough, and made a right and pulled into my daughters school, (she was in 4th grade at the time). A cop pulls in behind me, lights on, a million parents watching me, and of course I left my purse at home, no license on me. I look over at the school and my daughter and her entire class is watching all of this!!! I got off with a warning, because we were holding up school traffic, so I got lucky. I am afraid I do not have any advice for ya but to keep your chin up, and hope that this slightly cheered you up, someones embarrassment usually makes one smile! Good luck, dear!

Speeding inside a school? Do you care about the life of the people there?

I think you deserve a ticket for this but, if you contest the ticket-sometimes the officer that issued the ticket is to busy to go to court and the ticket is and offense is dropped and won't go on your record.
