I got the ticket in Riverside County California on 10/05/06
And I have not received anything in the mail.
I have tried to call and I’m on hold for up to 30min.
I just want to pay it and be done with it.
Why am I not getting anything in the mail?
Does this mean I have to go to court?

The speed on the 91 West is posted @ 65mph
The cop said I was doing 80+ (that’s what he
Put on the ticket) and he also wrote me up
For “fail to attach license plates.”
I’m 26; it's my first new car, Scion XB.
I did not put the plates on cause the new car
Feeling would be gone. I was going just as fast
As the jerk next to me with the two kids
Running around inside the car with no seatbelt.
Does anyone know how much $$ I’m looking at for all
these citations? What can I expect when I go to court.
Can someone walk me through it? Thanks!!!

Cant ya take a defensive driving class and have the ticket removed from ur record?

I've never done below 80mph on the 91, I would get ran over if I did

Some judges like to hear excuses and may reduce the fine if he.she feels the excuse is good enough.
In your case....I would tell them it was a new car and you didn't realize the sped you were going..and that you are used to all the shuttering and noise when you drive and the new car was quiet and smooth.
As for the plates...it's fix it ticket.

The cop tagged you for speeding by doing what they call pacing.....generally they ge within a certain distance of you and and cruise the same speed for a determined amount of time to "clock" you.

Better show up to court on the day...they usually post the your name on a docket to see if you are to be there that day....or you just show up and the judge will have a roster and call your name....if you're a no show...a warrant for your arrest will be issued.

80? on the 91?..it must have been midnight.

As for my answer..been there done that..except I was able to talk my way out of a failure to yield.

BTW...you may consider traffic school...if you just pay the fine....you end up with points on your DMV record and your insurance will go up.

There is usually some kind of set fine on the ticket so go pay it.
And as far as I'm concerned the only reason not to put plates on a car is when you are trying to get away with something. He probably would have went after the jerk with the kids but the no plates thing kind of drew his attention?

just call the number on the back of the ticket and wait. They will tell you how much it will cost and where to go to pay it.

i dont know what cali charges, but why go to court? just go to the dmv or police station and pay your ticket. it should say on your ticket the cost, failure to pay can lead to bench warrants and suspended license. you can also search online where to pay in your area

You know, if you go to court, chances are it will be dismissed anyway. Just dispute it.
