I had insurance, and just got it replaced for $50. This time I thought I would wait, collect all the numbers the person calls for several days. I thought about calling the numbers this morning, but I do not think I could find out who has it that way.
So, Monday, I am thinking about turning all the information in on numbers called, and filing a police report?
What does anyone think is the best course of action. The phone cost over $200 with a 2 year contract. If I file it on insurance again--2 strikes in a year, then you are cut off of insurance Plus it costs another $50--not counting the $5/a month payed.
Any suggestions will be appreciated?

As most of you know I got a speeding ticket the other night. I was going to make a court date and ask the judge if I could pay the ticket and take a drivers improvment class instead of the points on my license. I was wondering if before I made a court date should I go to the police station and ask to talk to the cop who gave me the ticket. Explain to him that I cannot have the points on my license but I am going to pay the ticket and take full responsiblity for it. I was going to ask the judge for a drivers improvment class instead of the points and if I made a court date if he would show up and say that would be a good idea or something. Now my question would be should I talk to the cop who gave me the ticket before I make a court date or should I just make the court date and talk to the judge by me self????

For years, I've heard that there are "special" stickers that family members of police officers put on their cars to identify themselves. If you don't have a family member who's a cop, are you less likely to get a ticket if you have a bumper sticker on your car saying that you "support" peace officers, local police, etc?

Aren't you guys supposed to be on the same team? I'd like to hear from cops and dispatchers please. What are the major gripes and gratitudes on both sides? Thank you.

There's been a couple time when I've either been pulled over or at a broken up party when an officer has told me to put out my cigarette. Are they legally able to enforce that?

I've had pot taken and not gotten arrested or been given a ticket. This has happened twice and both times it was really good pot. The one time I got cuaght with cr*ppy pot they wrote me a ticket. I think the cops just take it and sell it or smoke it themselves or worse plant it on someone else. So tell me what you do with it.

I live in the UK and have just turned 15. I have heard that the law has now changed so that drivers born after a certain date will have to be 18 before they can drive. Is this true?

On the negative. This is a debate question. So why should the use of deadly force not be used?

I agree that racial profiling is bad because people make unjust assumptions over someone based on the way they were born. But how is this different then police profiling men vs. women. How is it different from police targeting someone who is poor vs. someone who is rich. Yes you are born into a race but you are also born with many other characteristics that make you a more likely criminal. What I am trying to argue is that ignoring race, sex, apperance is impossible. It will always be a factor as long as men and blacks commit more crimes then whites and women.

What we need to do is let the police know the limits to profiling but let them come up with their own assumptions. Don't promote it but don't attack it. The ACLU is wrong in attacking just racial profiling, if they want to make their case stronger or more legitimate they should attack all forms of inherent profiling (like sex, appearance, hair colour...).

We can effectively rule out criminal charges, as the NYS Penal Law Section 35 endows Police with the use of deadly force upon their "reasonable" suspicion that their lives are in danger. Comish Kelly already admitted that Department Rules outlaw firing on a moving vehicle AND that the undercovers were drinking on the job.

I'm 17 about to be 18 in two days. I worked for Harley Davidson and stole a ring that cost $143.00 (stupid i know) I'm being charge with a class 1 misdemeanor now and for the state of Virginia (inwhich i live) states the penalty for that is up to 12 months in jail or a fine of $2,500 i have never gotten in trouble before...or my record is clean rather so do you think i'll be going to jail? also can they charge me as an adult being that my court date is Dec. 5th and i turn 18 Dec. 3rd even though i commited the crime as a minor? wouldn't my record be cleared when i turn 18? sorry so many questions just a little worried!

I forgot my wallet at a store in Montgomery county Maryland. I panicked and drove back to the store. I turned on my emergency flashers and parked in front of the store (marked as a fire zone). The police officer pulled up right as I was walking in to get my wallet. I turned around, told him that I would move it and he told me to wait until he gave me a $250.00 ticket. Is there any way I can contest this? i.e. trying to prevent a crime, emergency usage etc.

If so, how would I go about doing this? Any helpful links, tutorials, FAQ's would help a lot!

Thanks everyone!
