I finish high school im 22 years old and I didnt go to college what do i need i live in L.A County so i might go for the L.A.P.D so please help. Whats the reuirements or whats the first step

You might want ignore the ignorant comments about abusing power and start by looking for advertisements for job openings under law enforcement. They often will state what the requirements are. You could also try picking up an application. Try scheduling a ride along with the local pd to see what it's like and if that might be the route you want to go. It will also give you an opportunity to talk with the officer and they can provide you with a better idea of what you're getting into. Best thing to do is talk to someone who's doing it. Good Luck !

Learning how to spell "police" would be a good start. You may want to get an AA degree in a two year college. There should always be openings for LAPD. But you'll have to improve your English. Sorry, I'm not trying to be mean or rude.
But they have to read and write well. It's a stable job to get into. Pay is very good too. Look in the phone book and give them a call.

Most cities recruite police officers several times a year. There is usually no college degree requirement, depending on the city where you live.

Go to the precinct where you live and ask about the recruitment procedure, or, look online. The information might be posted.

Do a yahoo search for LAPD and look for career opps. Most places now require a 2-4 year degree in something, anything really, Then you have to pass written test, psycho test, physical test etc. Then on to basic training where you must pass. But again your best bet would be to look on LAPD web site. Good luck!!
