You alreday know the results. Did you lie ??
As for the dude aboves answer ?? You are only partialy correct. While the actual test results from the Polygraph are not admissible in court the Poligraphist is. They will be able to testify as to whether the person was telling the truth or was attempting to practice deception. And yes some folks can condition themselves to lie and still pass the test but most folks cant and wont.

Knowing from experience,they give you results right away.If you did the crime they would most likely arrest you if you failed the polygraph. What about the people who are too scared to take a polygraph ,do you think they are hiding something?

They lie detector test is a bunch of crap. It just measures physiologial responses that you can train your body to change. The liars that administer the test have instant results. It is so unreliable it cannot be used in court for anything because of how useless it is.

Beyond that it will depend on the department,
if the tester has to write a report, mail it to the department, and so on, a couple weeks
