The brazilian police force actually kill these street children like vermin, and get away with it.
Where our police force rarely kill anyone compared to other countries, and all of a sudden the do gooders are out in force.
Where are the Human Rights people and the do gooders in Brazil?

And I'm not saying our police can do what they want, just because the Brazilians kill children.
The police officer who killed Charles Menezes was only doing his job, and anyone who thinks he delibrately killed him need to get a life.

menezes only had to halt when told ,lie down be searched and he would still be alive .He must have known the security situation ,if an armed cop tells me to halt its yes boss all the way.The brazilian broo ha ha is all about compensation. how do you compensate someone who is dead with no dependants. What would have happened if he had a bomb in his backpack and the cops hadnt shot when they did.

De Menezes was here legally. It's amazing how people judge his right to life when they can't even understand what happened.

To answer the question - Brazil is a big country and some areas are rough, some are not. Some of their Police are corrupt, some are not. It's against the law to murder children in Brazil, just like here.
Of course, some cops in Brazil are corrupt, just like every nation has some corruption inside their Police force. Consider this - some people are bad, some are good. Just because some cops in Brazil are corrupt, it doesn't automatically ban every Brazilian cop from investigating an international crime affecting a Brazilian national.
De Menezes was shot at 11 times over 30 seconds plus. Count that out in your head. Then imagine they were special force issue dum-dum bullets fired from SAS issue weapons at point blank range. At the end, De Menezes had just a shell for a face and nothing behind it. Then the UK Police lied and lied and lied.
Brazil had every right to investigate.

That's a dangerously general question. When you say the Brazilians who are you talking about? You say that 'they" kill children so because the police shot Menezes does that mean that you kill Brazilians. Off course Brazilians in this country are angry.
They are not native here and when you're alien to a place you find whatever common bonds you can to make you feel at home as I'm sure you would. You are either incredibly ignorant or seriously angry about something you don't understand and possibly due to you're mental capacity, never will. Of course I'm sure that's not the case.

The British police are supposed to be following the rule of law and those for armed police. That is why they have a case to answer. They murdered this man without any sound infromation relating to who he was. He looked like a terrorist and that was enough for them.
Bye the way two wrong don't make a right. Or for that matter excuse a blatant act of murder. You qualification in using the Brazilain police force is just you looking for an excuse!

Your question shows how ignorant you are. I know that all the British aren't as ignorant as you. That's how stupid people construct their knowledge. We know we haven't the best police but if they kill people, specially a foreign one, they will go to trial. That is what we expect from a civilized country like yours. We are not talking about nationality, it is all about LIFE, human life. The policeman who killed Charles should at least be investigated. You don't even know when you hungry, what make you think you know anything about Brazil? or anything outside your backyard? I'm sure you don't even know where South America is. So you better stop thinking.

You are completely correct, but unfortunately our government would do nothing to try to get Brazil to stop this treatment of the street children as it isn't high on their list of priorities. Our police force mostly do a great job and cannot in anyway be compared to the Brazilians and in the circumstances i think I would have done the same as the officer who shot Mr Menezes, my sympathy's go to his family but who would comfort the families of untold numbers of dead if he had been carrying a bomb, why did he just not stop?

Killing is wrong only after a fair trial can it be justified
The armed res ponce officer should not have been subjected to another situation so soon after the manslaughter of a totally innocent man!!!
No "sane" person could remain unaffected!
Brazilian police and criminals are equally guilty.

It is true, Brazilian police have been killing street children for ages...since the 1980 it became known internationally.
And not only children, but native American who live in the forest, and when rich people wants their lands for farming, agriculture, looking for gold or emeralds...who you think they ask?
Of course the police and military have destroy population of native American Indians also, or haven't don't nothing when they are killed by other..
They cant talk about honesty or anything like that..If this have happen in Brasil, they even have done anything at all!!!

Yes, Brazil is not perfect and the offences you describe should be condemned but we pride ourselves of having a 'rule of law' in this country. 'Simon M' you are basically a stupid person to make such statements. 'Joseph M' I don't know what comics you read such trash in but try to engage your brain before you operate your mouth( or use a keyboard). The Met Police were less than honest in their account of this incident and have managed to prolong the chances of any real enquiry until next year on all manner of pretexts.
