my cousin held a girl, his mother and aunt hostage and stabbed the girl a couple of times and then took her to a hotel room where she finally got help when he left. she had a punctured lung but was out of the hospital within a few days. aunt had called the cops and when they showed up at the house his mother said nothing was going on, so my cousins trial was supposed to have been today but he went ahead a took a plea bargain of 45 yrs. isn't that a little much for that, i have heard of murderers getting out in less time, he will be elgible for parole in 23 yrs. this is his 2nd offense on this but this one was a little more severe, he served out his full sentence on the other one, they only gave him 2 years.
my question is this, y did they go to the extreme of 45 yrs for this?
and they are charging my aunt (his mother) with the same charges because she tried to protect him and didn't get that girl help so will she be looking at around the same sentence or will they go easier on her
