It seems like Americans want national security, but as soon as they get stopped at the airport for a check, they get all pissy and agro. Why can't people realise that extra security is not transparent? There is a cost involved. When you get questioned at the border, or the airport, think to yourself, "This is the cost I am paying for extra security."

I am not saying that the govenment will be able to do anything they like (the Patriot Act is a horrible thing)...but there will probably be extra waiting and more security checkpoints...

I want to get a restraining order against my ex. He has not physically harmed me, but he humiliated me to my friends and family by contacting ALL of them telling them I am a prostitute. He will not stop emailing me telling me I'm a dirty prostitute, he hopes I have a miscarriage, he's stressing me out by telling me that he has my SSN and that he's going to track me wherever I go (I'll be moving out of state in a week to get away from him). I want him to stop contacting me, my family and friends and he won't. I keep telling him to leave me alone and it seems the only thing I have left to do is get a restraining order, but under the circumstances that he has not physically harmed me, yet, I don't know if I can. I live in Lakeland, FL right now and can't seem to find the right websites to get this information. I've already had a police officer to my residence over a month ago when he was calling me to harass me and an officer spoke with him and told him to stop and the calls stopped

My friend lent me his oyster card. I was caught by transport police. To protect my friend, I told them I took the card without his knowledge. Police let me off with a caution for finding/theft of someone's oyster card and using it illegally. I was fingerprinted and my dna was taken. Up to then I had had no brush with the law. What will the police do with the information they have on me. If I take a public job will they use it against me? Will they ever destroy that information they have on me? I am so worried!

They stop random cars at a checkpoint and check for anything illegal...contraband, license, insurance, drunk driving. It is basically a fishing trip for the police. Does our constitution ban this type of search?

Why are the victims of crime victimized even further by the police.
My car was recently stolen. I had to pay 15 Bucks for the police report . Then when my car was recovered I had to pay 110 Bucks more to get it back.

Not to mention that I was treated like some kind of suspect when they took the report.
