He has a warrant, they wont pick him up. both times charges were dropped, wont tell me why, nothing I can do but live scared in my house, curtains closed, doors always locked, peeping through blinds at everysound, afraid to let my children play outside. And they wont do anything until I end up dead.......

The DA is a politician. If the case isn't a "gimme" he's going to go after ones that are so he'll have a good conviction rate at election time.

Tell him, a cop and a judge that you fear for your life, then buy, and learn how to use, a handgun.
Then, if you have to shoot him, there's a record of that, as well as the DA's records.

The DA is not doing his/her job. Get an attorney to ask why? You have a right to know! You may even have recourse against the DA. Write a letter to the Attorney General in your state. He can get to the bottom of this. It is his job. It may a take a bit time. Do you have enough time though? I would suggest going to a battered woman's home. They may at least have some answers for you. One other thing, if there is a warrant out for his arrest, the police have an obligation to pick him up. Write to a criminal judge in your area. Ask him why? Go to the local news papers. Force their hand!
Good luck!

I don't understand either why this is happening to you, is your ex a cop? Sometimes, getting the press involved (before your on the evening news and he's on America's Most Wanted) gets faster results. None of those judges or D.A.' s want to be known as the one who didn't help in the media

make sure that if i ever goes that way he ends up dead before you do.......

then they will have no choice and inssuficient evidence is a good reason to dismiss a case, there proof you have bruises but not that he made them, next time you catch him lurking around call the cops and report an intruder on you property and later clear it up saying you didn't know it was him all you saww was a silouette in you window or something like that and that you would like a restraning order placed on this man because it is not the first time he has done this... if you tell them you know who it is and tell them its your ex. thay just consider it as a domestic dispute...

I have the same problem with some of my offenders. They get way too many breaks, and a lot of times its because of costs, and lack of man power. I have people come into my office with open warrants and its like pulling teeth to get the police officer to pick him/her up! Its ridiculous! (I'm a probation/parole officer by the way).

Getting a gun would do nothing unless you are willing to shoot him. And you are willing to go to target practice.

I suggest that you contact your governments office. Sending a wordy email sometimes gets results. Someone said that someone wasn't doing their job and to contact the media. That is also an excellent idea.

What ever you do if you get a gun make sure that you are not going to panic or worse and shoot someone that you don't want dead.
