I personally carry a range of pistols, irt depends on what I am wearing and the situation I am in.
The pistol I favor in a Glock 17C, it is the most accurate of my collection and has the most firepower, holding 17 rounds per magazine. I prefer 9mm. It does not have the stopping power of some other calibers but it is cheap, I need a lot of practice to stay ready. I carry this when I can wear a jacket or bulky shirt or sweater.
I have a Glock 26 which is the 9mm little brother to the Glock 17. The issued mags hold 10 rounds but the larger mag from the Glock 17 can be used as well. This gun is small yet easy to shoot and almost as accurate the bigger framed G17. I wear this when I am wearing jeans and t shirt or business casual clothing.
When I am wearing sweats or I am in an area that I am very concerned about concealment I carry a Kel Tec in 32 caliber. The round packs a pretty good punch for a "mouse gun". It is very concealable, it fits in the palm of your hand. It is not a target pistol and I am only accurate at 15 yards.
When I am jogging; when I jog I seem to attract the wrong crowd, I carry a small North American Arms derringer in 22 caliber. I can run with the gun concealed in my fist. 22 caliber is not the best for self defence but I would rather have it with me than the best custom 1911 at home in my safe.
If you are thinking about getting a concealed carry gun, get as much information as you can and make the descision based on YOUR needs. The "gun expert" usually recomends something to suit himself and his needs..

I carry a lock blade knife on my hip in plain sight. It has a belt clip that I hang on my pocket. It's a cheap $3 knife from the flea market that I loosened the blade screw so that I can open it with the flick of my wrist. Then I learned how to throw it, up to thirty feet I can hit a pie pan, point first, 90% of the time. I walk into banks, stores, even the courthouse and no one says anything about it. The best thing is that it's legal and visible. There is no question that I am armed and it would be wise to assume that can use it.
