I asked a previous question about my eligibility--now, what, as a female, should I expect in the physical test for acceptance into the police academy? (Can you tell I am nervous?) I am physically strong, do I need to actually train for it?

If you caught someone (pedestrian or otherwise) in possession of a little bit of marijuana, do you or do you not feel bad that this person will be in so much trouble over something so insignificant? Does it personally make a difference to you if the person caught is someone with a long criminal history or a 1st timer or even an upsanding senior citizen?

In the past, I did some illegal drugs (most of them being over 10 years ago).
I did them casually, and never got into the "druggy" lifestyle.
Now I am a responsible, absolutely drug free, and I am opposed to drugs. I am a Mother, in college, and work full time.
Is there still hope for me in the personality/background/polygraph portions of the police academy entrance tests?

I got the ticket for running a stop sign, and I am protesting it. When I went to the court the judge told me that the officer was in the hospital due to accident, and he gave me one continuence and let me pick the date during the next 45 days. I thought if the officer does not show, then I am free to go. Does anyone know how many continuence the judge can issue if the officer does not show?

I have finally decided how I'd like to help society, and I'd like to be part of the VPD. I plan to apply next September. I'll be 20 by then and have my class 5 license, and I am currently looking for volunteer work in policing. I will also have one year of post-secondary credit by then. I'd like to know if you have any pointers for me to be successfully recruited, or any tips on how to stand out. Thanks in advance.

Campus police are called for an odor of marijuana in/around a college dorm(gee, imagine that). They arrive and are able to smell it in the hall. They find the room from which it is coming. They knock and are allowed in. The room wreaks of weed. It's not certain if they are given permission to search the room (I wasn't there so I don't know). They find a little bit of pot and two pipes. The pipes have resin (just pot, no crack). One resident takes ownership of the pot & one pipe, the other just one pipe. They're both charged for the pipes, and one for the pot.

Was there probable cause to search the room even if permission was not granted (but I assume it was) and no search warrant was obtained? Keep in mind these are campus police in a college dorm, if that even matters.

If I was parked in a parking space on a parking lot and my car was smashed by a reckless driver who did not stop by sped recklessly away and I called the CHP 911 cops to make a report of the damage and how it occured. I was emotional as a few weeks ago I survived a head-on collision by another car over a 30 foot cliff that totalled my car and the police reported it was not my fault at all
but the other driver's: so I told the COPS why I was such a nervous wreck about this damage to the rental car and I wanted a report. They accused me of lying and blaming the damage on innocent people and said I was too upset to not be drunk. They questioned me over and over and arrested me for medication in my purse which I had mixed in 1 bottle. They arrested me but I had no alcohol in my system as they insulted and accused me. Then since I was too upset to pee they took my blood and I did have marijuana since I smoked it days ago and some meth because I drank it in coffee given me.

This illegal alien drove a bus that was holding elderly passengers fleeing hurricane Rita last year in Texas. The breaks stopped working caught on fire and the driver continued. People were yelling at him but he didnt stop. The oxygen tanks from the elderly caught on fire and killed 23.One month prior he was caught speeding on another bus tour and released. He failed to do required inspections 90% of the time and had only 5 hrs of sleep. He lied on his driving books and is now still working as a truck driver in loredo texas. the government released him and said if he told the gov that the truck company made him lie that they would release him. They did and he didnt get jailed. Do you think he should have gotten the death chair? Last time I heard truck drivers make 39,000 average in Texas. Should the state trooper that caught him speeding and released him be fired?

he slagged of my mother and me and he was shouting that i was a lazy slag etc... his body language did seem to be quite agressive so rather than him go for me first (i did not want to take that chance) i hit him. he then pinned me to the floor and sat on me still calling me names and insulting my mother. he told my sister to call the police wether she did or not i dont know. I was struggling with him to get him off me I did kick out at him and I did call him names back, I was at that point just trying to get him off me. he had two other people there asides from my sister. it has been nearly 4 hours since I still havent had a visit from the police is this normal. or should I expect a visit in the morning.

The report & Movie

http://www.infowars.com/articles/ps/police_violence_paraplegic_man_roughed_up_by_cops.htm

Based on the incident report, a spokesman with the sheriff's report said officers followed procedure.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- A paraplegic man in Rutherford County was allegedly roughed up Thursday night by police who thought they were dealing with an uncooperative drunk driver.

The misunderstanding happened when police removed the Harvey Watson from his vehicle and thought that he was resisting arrest when they dragged him across the road.

Watson is also a diabetic . A Rutherford County Sheriff's Department incident report shows that officers tried to stop Harvey Watson's vehicle but for medical reasons unknown to police at the time, he was disoriented.

“When they told me to exit the vehicle I stuck both arms out the window and told them ‘I cannot exit,'”

I have a friend online who lives in the Keystone state. He clearly has depression. I contacted my friend in the state police there, yet he hasn't replied back to me yet. Who do I contact if I feel he may put him self or others in danger? I only keep in contact with him online.

Thanks

The ticket issued stated I was parked illegally at a residence hall. In actuality, I was parked illegally at a residence hall down the street. Will this get me out of the ticket? The Parking police took pictures....which hopefully will show that I was parked at a different hall. Can they give me a ticket for the actual offense so nearly 1 month later?

2006-10-03 11:26:27 · 9 answers · asked by Anonymous

I always under the assumption that once you received a ticket, you can only be charged for that same offense once every 24 hours. I totally forgot I left the car parked at a meter and the next I see two tickets for the same exact offense with the same date. I appealed the second one online and they said I'm still guilty.
