Just for future reference...

If you get pulled over you are under NO obligation to allow the officer to search your vehicle unless he/she has a search warrant. If they ask to search your vehicle and you say "yes" then your have giving them consent and they are allowed to search. But if you say "no" and there's no search warrant then there's nothing they can do, and you have every Right to say no.

And all uniformed law enforcement officers wear a name tag and have there badge on their uniform, and are required to provide that information to you upon request.

Lastly, there's a handy dandy "Check Spelling" icon you can click on prior to sending your questions or answers. I use it all the time and it works pretty well. Doesn't work so much for grammar but is a good spell checker.

If he stopped you for bad spelling and was searching the car for a spell checker he was justified!

In all seriousness, if he gave you a ticket you have the information, if not call down to the police station and ask the desk officer if you can find out who was working the street you were pulled over at that time of day. If you don't get any help from him, ask to talk to the police chief. You'll get the information. What you do with it will be an interesting decision. Good chance you'll be stopped plenty in the future.

Did he ticket you? If he did his name and badge number will be on the ticket. If not go to his supervisor and you should be able to narrow down who was working the area you were in. In our area the law enforcement agencies have web sites with pictures of all officers. You could check there and see if you recognize him. Do complain if your premice is legitimat. I was stopped and really harrassed once for not having a front liscense plate on my vehicle. I called the officer' supervisor and sent a follow up letter. The officer was fired with in a month, because he had been giving several people grief for no reason.

Call dispatch. The police station covering the area. Ask to speak with the supervisor, or the Lieutenant on duty. Describe the individual to him, and the area where it happened. They'll pull the rest of the information, perhaps with your license number, and info.

You find call to the police station where you were pulled off. Explain them your scenario and get the identification of that police. I am sure name and badge numbers are for public knowledge.

well first of all Any cop if they think u are hiding something they have every right to search ur vehicle. Why he pulled u over I do not know but if u think he pulled u over for a faulse reason u can call the department but u don't have a case because legally they can pull u over as long as they think u are hiding something.
