Law Enforcement & Police - October 2006

This is the deal, I was sitting in my appartment today when one of the maintence people unlocked my door and came in. They did not call me or notify me beforehand that they needed to do anything and there was no dire emergency situation in my opinion, he just said there was a minor water leak downstairs and they needed to check it out. Do I have any right to take any legal action? If so, what should I do. Seriously, I could have been in the shower or something come out to find a stranger in my home. To top it all off (after I made him get the office manager, so I wasn't alone in my apartment with some strange dude that I've never even met before) he didn't even do anything, he told me what the problem was and said that I needed to get the parts and have my husband fix it.

I am curious if North Carolina state laws can be legally enforce on the Cherokee Reservation. I have asked lawyers in North Carolina but have yet to get a clear answer. A state trooper tried to infer I violated a law on US highway as if that was a federal offense. However the law cited is a state law. I will fight the ticket on November 17th on this and other grounds.

More details are available at this link:

Please don't bother lecturing me about obeying the law or wasting your time telling me how to live; I just want an answer with a verifiable source cited.

The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not sufficient warrant. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty

The guy who lives next door to me is steadily losing his grip on reality and I think he's going to do something harmful to someone soon. He's already threatend to burn the other neighbor's house down, he drives around spitting on people, constantly yelling obsenities to anyone, calls all the girls in the nieghborhood sluts and whores, and now he is obsessed with me. I caught him going through my trash, and he waits for me to come home and hides behind his fence and hisses like a demon. He does not work, has no friends, house is paid off and he drinks everyday to excess. He also spouts off right wing propaganda so....probably has a gun. We have gone to the police several times, and they warned him initially but now they won't do anything because they don't really want to get involved since he is on his property when he does these things. He never threatens...he just f/u's us anytime we are both outside, making it extremely difficult for my wife and I to enjoy our home. Help..

My mom has been having problems with my 16 year old sister since she was prolly 12. She has stolen everyones car to go joyriding (to which the police officers responded, in front of her) we cant do anything, she has to do something MAJOR for her to get locked up. She doesnt go to school, she smokes pot (and who knows what else) shes even being investigated for a drive by shooting. There has to be someone out there who knows TEXAS law, and can let me know what my mom can do about locking her up, and not having her kill some one or be killed herself. All the cops tell my mom to let her do whatever she wants and when shes 17 she'll get locked up. Im tired of my mom going thru this, and something has to be done before my mom dies of a heart attack!

I am currently persuing my masters in Accounting and will ultimately sit for the CPA exam. I do not want to have a criminal record. I suggested taking it to trial, however he feels that we will lose because the other girl has witnesses and I do not.

Should I take the deferred prosecution or fight - i have an excellent argument but my attorney is .......... please help

I am in a Multimedia class, and the instructor has asked us to find out what the term for blacked out blotted censoring on things like FBI documents is. He says the word he is looking for starts with the letter "R" An example is on the second page of this document:

Read it in paper today. The police commission have apparently banned their offiicers as using it as it is un-PC.

Why is this term offensive now?

I wanted to know what exactly constitutes illegal search of a vehicle. My boyfriend and a girl were driving and got pulled over. My boyfriend was driving and the girl was the owner ofthe car. He was a legal, licensed driver with no warrants for his arrest at the time. Imediatley, my boyfriend was arrested. They then searched the car and found a little bag of meth. He went to jail and the girl went home. I know the driver is responsible for the contents of the vehicle, but was arresting him before the drug was found legit?

The legal system is a joke, I was at court for kicking the **** out of two ar*eholes who tried to attack me (they ran into their house when they couldn't get the better of me and called the police - but that's another story), There were two sex offenders on trial that day, one had raped 11 people, including an 11 year old girl, his excuse to the judge was that he couldn't help himself ( He pleaded guilty and got 6 months probation and counselling !!! - no jail). The other was a peadophile who was charged with molesting 7 children, he got bailed (let out) to reappear a few weeks later. These scum should have the c**ks cut off and left to bleed to death.
Does everyone agree, there should be more vigilantes if the police and courts are not doing the right thing.
