jai right now & the entire jail got raided. i was wondering since the cops took all there stuff will they get them back?? (letters, pictures, etc etc??)

My first question would be Why did the jail get raided?
It would matter what that particular jail considers contraband. Our local jail contrabands all pictures containing nudity.
My second question would be Why did all the stuff? That's a lot of work.
I would also wonder if your friend is gaming you. Happens all the time. It's a good way for inmates to get more stuff sent in.

Yes they take an inventory of all his belongings in his/her pockets and place them in a bag. They also do that right in front of the person. As long as he didn't have any contraband or weapons on him he will get the rest of his stuff back whenever he leaves to go home.
