Law & Ethics - November 2007

Ok, firstly I am real sorry to bore you all with this, but it's kind of important to me.

8 policemen say I did something, I say I did not.

I want to see them in court but am representing myself (see previous questions as to why).

How do I get them there, or is it the prosecution who should bring them to back up their own case?

we havent paid our licene - no money

after answering door to one of them and saying we were getting 1, we got note though saying youll be fined if you dont pay tv licence but how can they fine you if they dont know your name? or details? what if we leave we might be moving on anyway

I purchased a hot beverage from a restaurant. After it cooled I was drinking it and found a piece of plastic tubing. The tube was about an inch in length and one end was cut at a slant. I was lucky not to cut my mouth, let alone swallow it. Do I have any recourse here or would I be wasting my time? I have contacted their main office, but have not heard from them yet.
Any advice is appreciated.

my childhood friend who is also my best friend has told me that she WANTS ME TO RAPE HER! She is still a virgin & she says that she has wanted it for 6 years now and since then has been fantasing about it. We would do ANYTHING for each other. 2.Inflation in the United States has the highest rate in the world.

we've been really skint we've been getting hassled by tv licencing guy, he came round last week and my boyfriend answered, he said we were in process of getting one set up although we havent. he managed to get rid of him, but he came round 2night at 8.30pm and he scared me cos he wouldnt go away he rang about 20 times and knocked the door, was looking in our house, i didnt know whothe hell he was until my boyf said.

its pitch black and theres a black guy standing outside my house, i aint opening the door to anyone let alone him!
he left a note saying phone this number to avoid a fine. should i tonight set up one on the internet, would he be able to tell id set up one exactly tonight?

please advice. i like alot of other ppl totally disagree with paying for watching channels its out tv, we bought it, its the most stupid stupid stupid law ever! the reason i havent paid is i cannot afford it. but obviously idont want fined. if i were to leave it would they b able2 fine is thru post?

If people feel strongly that smokers have an obligation to pay more for health care because of the extra financial burden they place on the system* then shouldn’t the same financial reasoning be used in regards to Social Security? If on average smokers die 6-8 years sooner than a non-smoker, then they obviously place much less of a financial burden on Social Security. Perhaps there should be a tax on gym memberships and heath food to make up the difference; people who work on living as long as possible are obviously abusing the system and are getting more than their fair share.

*Nations with universal health care recognize that smokers do in fact cost the health care system more “for every year a smoker lives,” but since non-smokers live longer they will eventually cost the system even more.

...then says that it can be cut in half or even more. How long is your probation. I have served more than 50% of the five years.. I have been compliant. I am in good with the court. My PO filed for the early termination. What can go wrong?

I recently heard that Obama admitted to smoking dope and doing other illegal drugs while speaking to students at a collage function.
If this is true, as a one time admitted dope smoker, does anyone think that if elected President Mr. Obama would perhaps be inclined to address the current drug laws in the US? Maybe some form of decriminalization. He apparently enjoyed himself quite a bit while in Hawaii.
I wonder if the other democratic hopefulls will exploit this admission while fighting for their parties nomination?

I am told its illegal for the CIA to spy in the USA Proper. I dont agree that it is. .but if they are posing as Drs lets say, and they dont have medical licenses.. is the US govt liable for the damage and injury caused under such circumstances? I was rendered with a false mental health and medical diagnosis by someone who was later never found to have a medical license as a DR.. yet I was forced to take medication and horrible torturous treatment prescribed.. what is my rememdy and what kind of lawyer would take this serious case?

The zoning officer (in Scranton, PA) issued a baseless notice of violation against a rental property.

I appealed to the Zoning Hearing Board. They decided against me, and upheld the violation.

I, then, appealed to the Court of Common Pleas, and the judge decided in my favor. Not only that, but the judge criticized the zoning officer and the zoning hearing board for ignoring clear decisions by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court which supported my position that I was never in violation and that the notice of violation should have never been written.

Now, can I sue the zoning officer, the city, and the zoning hearing board, for my damages? or, do they enjoy some kind of immunity?

This question is regarding the laws in Idaho. If a person is a bartender and their cash register is short, can the owner legally take the difference out of your paycheck in the state of Idaho? It sounds illegal to me....
Here is the scenario.... I have a friend who is a bartender. He worked 10 days in the two week period.... his Register was short about $90.00 in that time. His boss took the amount he was short out of his pay check...Is this legal??? I told him I thought it was illegal to do so, because if it were legal, wouldn't Wal-Mart and K-Mart being doing the same type of thing?? Can anyone help me?

about baning the word "mom and dad" in california? is the law active? am not sure if it really is, because almost everyone knows about it at my school in AZ. I have lots of friends in CA but they haven't even heard of it. I'll be moving back to CA next month.
