What I take from the comment is that globalization is a runaway phenomenon, that it exists, and that it will continue to happen whether we have an argument about it or not.

I disagree almost entirely, by the way. People don't do enough arguing, let alone philosophizing, about the implications of runaway globalization. If more of us had an informed opinion on globalization, we might be more inclined to make lifestyle choices that go against the trend, such as purchase goods and services locally or minimize our consumption habits.

I believe it just means that globalization is happening and it cannot be stopped! Neither can gravity!

The more important question is how do we deal with it?
