Let's say you are applying for a job at a retail store. The retail store is hiring, and you present yourself fine to the store while applying for the job. Several weeks go by and they don't call you in for a job interview. Soon enough, you call the retail store's hiring manager for a follow up on your application. You are told by the hiring manager that you qualify for the job, but they don't want to interview you because you they don't like your physical appearence. Then they tell you that they also don't like the fact you are not the opposite sex/gender.

Would I need some type of evidence, to sue a reatil store for descrimination?

"I am an expert and have been working in this business for years" when they are just a 19yo trying to make money with their eBook. Wouldn't you think there is some type protection for customers from that? Do you have to buy his eBook to charge him or anybody can charge an eBook author for making false claims on his website to make people buy this book?

A very dear friend has been housed at a nursing center and I have been prohibited to visit her because I show outward affection. A kiss on the lips and holding hands. The police will be called if I return and the police have told me it's a civil matter.

What is not valid about that question in the politics section?

Can people be as derogatory as they like to President Bush, but asking a legit question about homosexuality gets banned? What's that all about?

I've just started to work on a comic book that I plan for to be published in the future, but I got a problem:

Some of the character's personality and looks are based off my friends and I'm using their first names. (ex. Julie, Stephanie, Jane, Michelle, etc.)

Is it ok to publish without their consent, or do I really need a written and signed permission? Can I just change the names of the characters and use without any legal problems or issues? It's just a comic book about random everyday life :0

Best answer will be rewarded properly!
Thanks for reading!

If you could make up any type of case what would it be. Like a law thing where it involves lawyers and court. What can you come up with. Use details.

Long story short is that I work for a fortune 100 company, actually I think it is a fortune 5 company. I am supposed to get paid my commission at the end of every month. Well for the check I am supposed to get 11/30 they are saying we arent getting it until 12/14 because they made an accouting error or something.

Is that legal? I had plans for that $6,000

Taken her home worth 2.5 million, her mother's home, and about everything else she has. Now what I'd like to know is: The endorsements she's already been paid for. While she may have to reimburse them for a portion of the money she earned, unless she signed a contract indicating she was not using drugs of any kind, I don't believe they can take that money back. But, if she put it into her and her mom's homes and someone got them in judgment she is back to being broke. And still owing $700Grand. Now, she is retired, but if she gives a yrs notice that she wants back in she can get in in 2009 or 10. I don't see this gal working at Hardee's. So what are her options besides boxing with other infamous souls??

My question is regarding employment law in Illinois. I thought employees were supposed to be given at LEAST 15 minutes break time if they work 6-7 hours straight. My daughter works for Bath and Body Works but has never been allowed even a lunch break. I hope someone can help me with this. Thank you!!

We were driving home from the hospital after my 2 yr old was in the icu for a few days and a man piloting an experimental/home built air craft, crashed and we were hit with all the debri and ran alot of it over damaging our car. The family of the pilot who died agreed over the phone to pay the damages to our car. We got an estimate, they did not agree with and are now refusing to pay. We have now grown impatient with the situation. Any input would be appreciated. What can we sue for...I know the damages, time off of work. Anything else? We did not want to put this family through this after loosing a son, giving them every opportunity to just settle with us for the body work of the car..but they are not worried about our family and I am now ready to get what we deserve.

My friend was doing some scrapping as he has done in the past and as he was ready to turn the metal scrap in to the recycler in Beaverton,Oregon he was stopped by a Beaverton police officer. After doing all the normal checking and not coming up with anything the officer got out his code book and him and another Beaverton officer spent several mintues finding something they could charge him with, the charge reads as follows. (Failure to maintain a metal purchuse receipt)He went to court on the charge in the city of Beaverton and it was transfered to the Washington County Court which is in(Hillsboro,Oregon). He appeared in court there and a pre-trial date was set.I have read the ORS concerning this charge but Im wanting to know more about the charge and if it is a city ordaince or penal code or who has to keep there receipt,a busniess or a privite party.Im lost at this point to understand if your scrapping and turning it in to a recycler why you need to maintain a purchase receipt ect.

When I know that several of these laws are being broken by one organization. The county won't do anything about it because they are trying to cover their own rear ends, and some how they have kept the state out of it. What has gone on in this county in the past 15 years and still going on now is inexcusable. Misuse of goverment funds, theft of property, misuse of goverment property, vandilism of government property , mis use of an IRS Tax number. It is deplorable, and makes me angry personally because that is my tax money. and to see indiviuals profiting off of something that is supposed to be for the good of our community is infuriating.
But is there anything I can do? I don't want to say to much about what it is in a public forum, but I would like to know if there is anthing that could be done.

I just got finished paying $1300 in repairs, and owner said I need another part and labor would be $500 extra on top of this.

I called him by phone and we do alot of business (whole family of 6 goes in to get serviced by him). He asks if I have a credit card # if I could give him to buy the $300 part over the phone. He said he has no money on him and he owns the business! Then he said come over to his place, and buy the part, pay $300 cash and then to bring my car a couple days later to get fixed.

And we've paid so much in cash every time services were finshined and performed to this owner.

Is he a slither scumbag, or do you find this very suspicious?
