In Ohio it's state law for an hourly-wage employee to be paid time-and-a-half if they go over 40 hours a week. When I got a job my boss made me sign something that looks like he typed up in 2 minutes on his computer. It said I wasn't entitled to overtime pay ever. Is it legal for him to just make employees sign whatever crap he types up?

This is for anyone who knows laws for people rights. I feel like I am getting tried in my college for an offense which has already come up before, although in the other occurances it did not get me in trouble.

I have a shot glass in my dorm room and 2 times before Resident Assistants had come in my room and seen the shot glass and not done anything about it making me feel that it was alright to have. One night however, when I was not in my room, It was taken from ym room and said to be not allowed on campus because it is alcohol related. When I went to the resident director about the siutation, she gave me probation for the rest of the year meaning strike 1 and on strike 3 you are kicked out of school.

Is this situation i'm in double jeapordy? even though I was never tried for it, it was still known I had shot glasses in my room and they suddenly decided to prosecute me for it

I got banned from a forum for asking about mohammed and is sexual relations with his 9 year old wife. I got threatned and banned. it was on a uk forum, it was a general student forum. I got banned for being racist? muslims are not are race. Furthermore the admins ignored the abuse and threats I got.

is this fair?

I think not, I think it is appalling that abuse and threats are allowed, but asking about mohammed 9 year old wife is forbidden.

Hi everyone. My girlfriend in trouble noW! She just told me a story that 5 years ago when she was 19, she stole ( shoplifting) some outfits from Macy's ( STATE MA) . It was her first time in America, she hardly spoke English. So anyway, whatever she was doing., she got caught. They put her in the room, the cops took her to a police, and made an appt. For her in court( really nice of them, ). They gave her a free lawyer who told her, she has no other way but pay like a triple amount in Fine. She paid about $700. Case been dismissed. She went back to her country. Now she is again in USA, having a husband and a baby. And a few days ago she gets a letter from a company representing Macy's , saying that Macy's proceed with a civil penalty claim against her. Amount she has to pay is $368.94. That's not a small money... I really want to help her, but don't know anything in this subject. Please, if anybody can help........she is wonderful person.

At my mall in the food court there are a bunch of couches you can sit on next to a coffe stand. There is a sign next to them that anyone under 19 can not sit on them. Is it illegal to discriminate solely because of age, especially if other couches are not provided for younger people?

Pubs are shutting faster than Gordon Brown's wallet and as smokers abandon their locals beer sales have plummeted to their lowest level since the 1930's.

Should those hypocritical politicians who excluded themselves from the ban on smoking in the workplace, perhaps re-consider the draconian rules which make smokers smoke out of doors and braving the elements?

After all the WHA's study on passive smoking, the largest and most far reaching one ever carried out, concluded it was harmless, and so refused to publish it.

Why can't normal smokers gather together and enjoy a drink or a meal with their cigarette when their MP's can?

Whatever happened to equality under the law?

I know in murders they have 1st degree and 2nd degree murder, but when it comes to statutory rape, thats all thats their. This means that a person who goes out and brutally rapes a child is the same as someone who sleeps with the person their dating.

My father died last April and my half brother is the executor of his estate so he has decided to put a price on all of the stuff and decided that whatever we want we take the price of it off of the money that we would be getting from his home but he has decided that we take the full amount instead of dividing it 5 ways (there are 5 of us). For instance his motorcycle has a price of $2000 so whoever buys it has to take $2000 away from the money that person would be getting instead of $1600 which is 1/5 less. Can anyone tell me how this is usually done. The lawyers wont tell me anything because they are my half brothers lawyers and not mine. We have to go and do this tomorrow so if there is anyone that knows how this is supposed to work or has been through this I would appreciate any advice.

landgod lets others do things that i cant, example...i get 8ft fence he says cant have it,,,i sell it to neighbor ..they can...

i have an old car that i have on my property that has been there for 4 months. I had told the owner that he could leave it here as long as he works on it & gets it up & running. I'm 18, she's 16. We live in different states at the moment, because I'm in college. We've been dating for almost 2 years. My dad and I jointly own the house in which I live as joint tenants with right of survivorship. If he were to get sued and lose, could the person suing him come after the house we jointly own? If so, could they also come after my half of the ownership? Or could they not come after any part, since me and my dad own the house and only he would be sued (not me)?

Two years ago I got in to a car accident. I was going to work and I wanted to poll over in the side of the road so i slowed down in the process a car struck me in the rear. So i moved my car on the side of the road. While the other car that struck me left his car on the road. 4 minutes later another car came and struck that car that was standing in the road. But that car never touched my car because i moved my car on the side of the road. Now two years later that car that struck the car that was standing on the road is sueing me for 500,000.00 dollars saying i stopped in the road and he struck me, which he never even touched me. The other problem I have is that I don't have insurance. This is my first getting into a car accident does any one have suggestion as to what I should do?

I ordered a bike from a local shop @ 40% discount end of Sep. b/c of a group triathlon team discount. It was supposed to arrive mid-Oct & now it's expected to SHIP DEC. 1st, arriving 2 MONTHS LATE!!! As triathletes w/scheduled races this is unacceptable/we need to spend $ on renting bikes.
This shops employees have constantly been lazy & rude saying "ure not doin us a favor, were doin u a favor- u cant get this discount anywhere & were the best shop in town for ure team," hurrying me out of the store while choosin a bike & givin me attitude the entire time. After callin to check the status on why my bike was late I said do we get a discount for the 2 month delay? his response: "u already had a good discount." I bought an $89 5-year repair service w/them & want to demand a refund for it b/c im so ANGRY I dont want to c them EVER again. How do I convince the manager to get my $ back if non-refundable, put them in their place for this stressful & unjust experience? must i threaten 2 sue??
