I think that they should have different degrees. The thing is, the word "rape" is very vague. This means that it can mean that a man is just touching a woman in a wrong way all the way to tying someone up and killing them after rape. There should be a system of different degrees of rape, but we have not established a system like that so far.

There ARE different degrees, in almost all States.
Even in the States with the strictest laws, generally an 18 you boy having sex with a 17 yo girl will only be a misdemeanor, while a 50 year old man having sex with a 12 year old will b a serious felony.
Google your own States laws to see how it's handled where you are.

There was some talk in our local area of incorporating a "Romeo and Juliet" law that would excuse young couples, for example, a 17 year old girl and a 19 year old guy who are dating with the girl's parent's permission.
But you are right, it casts teen/early 20's lovers a few years apart in the same category as child rapists. There is a huge difference.

There ARE different punishments for statutory rape and brutal, forced rape. They both constitute as "rape", but a rapist will be sentenced longer if the sex was not consensual.

Well, the laws are the same but the punishment could vary in the case of the rape but as far as murder there should be only a charge of murder or not. someone is either dead or they are alive.

Nope. In most states legal age is 16 or 18, but still that is just plain wrong.
If they can't wait till after marriage, or untill legal age, for shame for shame.
