According to the constitution of India the wife of the prasident is the 1st lady citizen of the country in the case of a male prasident , we have a lady prasident right now, [ Mrs.Pratibha patil ] So, Is Mr. Patil 1st citizen of India who must be the "PRASIDENT" only ,according to the law , i want to know that what is the constitutional position, what the constitution says in this regard.I expact answers from the low experts only

"The President of the republic o India" is the First citizen, just as Bush is in US.His wife is called "the First Lady " only.
MS Ptil is the "First citizen" and Mr. Patil woulld be known as the Husband or Spouse of the Lady President!

I think, there is no bias of gender in Indian Constitution. The President of India is considered the First Citizen of India, whether a lady or a male.

No. There is only one president.

I understand the confusion because of the Constitutional wording but that does not mean the husband is also president. What it means is the wording needs to be clarified... that the Constitution is just 'missing' a definition for a husband as 1st spouse.

Two Presidents is an oxymoron. The spouse of the duly elected President of India is the First Lady/Gent.

neither of them are - its Sonia Maneno Gandhi who still holds the Italian Nationality along with her showcase Indian Nationality who rules India like a dictator holding the strings of her puppets in the seats of the President and the Prime Minister.
