A very dear friend has been housed at a nursing center and I have been prohibited to visit her because I show outward affection. A kiss on the lips and holding hands. The police will be called if I return and the police have told me it's a civil matter.

Go to the court house and ask them if it can be done. If it can, they would know. They may tell you that you need an attorney. This doesn't make sense to me.

Without looking like an idiot, impossible!
Have you considered making an appointment with the nursing home administrator to discuss the matter without threats or not being willing to negotiate???? Obviouly not!

You have no financial damages and thus no grounds for a successful suit.

Your friend is the client, not you. If she doesn't like their rules, she can move to another facility.

*You* have no standing in law to do anything, sorry.
