I am sorry but there is no way I would ask for my husband to be declared legally dead after being missing two months. I would not except that as an option until his remains were brought home.

I did not sign a lease. I gave $1000 deposit and the room looks the same as when I rented it. She just told me I don't get my deposit back until 45 days after I move out. Can she do this?

With reference to the Cherokee Nation in Northern GA during the years preceeding the Trail of Tears. The Supreme Court ruled that Cherokees did not have to follow Georgia law- this has to be backed up in the constitution somewhere! Where in the constitution does it state this?

Does it mean that he can't be tried on 1st degree again? I just finished Jury service on a trial where we were unanimous on the 1st degree, but deadlocked, or hung on the 2nd degree charge. Not totally satisfied with the fact that it is declared a mistrial, but can I at least rest a little easier thinking that if they do re try him, they can't try him on 1st degree again? Or can they?

Ok first and foremost everything here is said with the understanding that downloading music illegally is a CRIME. But think about this if you're worried about lawsuits/ etc regarding music downloads.

Basically everyone has experimented at one point or another with music downloads. The problem is the guilt when you do decide to stop. Is stopping itself enough?

Let's say that you've downloaded a pretty hefty collection over the past year. Now the fact that you have downloaded at all is a crime; if you deal drugs at some point in the past, you're still liable today. But by stopping, aren't you sort of preventing yourself from being caught, theoritcally? If the feds had the choice of going after someone who is still downloading, or someone who has kicked the habit, why would they choose the person who stopped? IN other words,if they could get the guy who sold drugs a long time ago or the guys still doing it,they'd go after the ones still doing it correct? Doesn't this mean ur kinda safe?

It's been over 60 years since the Holocaust, and people still want to track down ex-Nazis and prosecute them before they die. Do you think this is the right thing to do?

Two of the three got total mental disability and the third got partial mental disability. All started receiving checks one month after release. These three men are ages 24, 28 and 32. Is there something wrong with this picture? DUH !!!

I own a small taxicab business in West Des Moines, IA (3 cabs). The actual city of Des Moines will not permit me to pick up my customers there. Des Moines itself only has one cab company. Unfortunatly Des Moines is where all the big hotels are located as well as the Airport & Greyhound. The city's reason is that I need to own at least 10 cabs, each cab has to be insured for 1.5 million each. I have to operate a 24/7 staffed facility. The local news did a story on my situation. When they asked a few of the city council members why, they actually said " it's to protect our cab company from new competition" My cabs are new, updated, english speaking/ hard working Americans. We already operate a 24 hour cab service. 90 % of our business comes in via telephone. The other 10% are flag downs. I have been in business for a year and a half. Is this an illegal monopoly? Are there any loop holes? My hands are tied! PLEASE HELP!
