It still is, in many places. The question is, not whether or not you think sodomy is a good idea, but what vested interest the government has in preventing it? Some state statutes define sodomy as including oral sex. Is this really something the government needs to regulate between consenting adults?

Sodomy is a crime for both genders if it was forced.

Anybody can have sex any way they want if it was consenting and they are both of age.

When someone forces another to have oral intercourse the crime is also called sodomy.
