I would like an answer to this troubling question. If I brake a federal law, do I have to pay the consequences for doing so?

Be aware that after I get answers to this question I will then update to what law I am pertaining too. Okay? Lets try it. Thanks

I'm writing to my uncle in prison and just wondering how long it takes for him to receive a letter from me. He lives in the next state for me. Do they have to open all the letters and read them all the time..is that why it takes a while??

This is really hard for me to talk about, nobody really knows about it except for a few close friends and my fiance.

I was sexually assualted 3 years ago by a very close friend of mine. We were at a small party (yes, we were drinking and using drugs) and after everyone fell asleep I woke up to him touching me. I know this is stupid, but I was too scared to say or do anything. I was drunk and high and I didn't know what I would say to him or how he would react, like if it would make things worse. So I layed there and pretended to be asleep while he went on doing it and touching himself. He was my best friend, it's still hard for me to even believe it happened.

Anyway, here I am three years later really regretting my decision not to report him. He has serious problems and I have no doubt he will probably do it again. Right after it happened, mutual friends of ours found child pornography on his laptop, along with a file dedicated to pictures of me that I did not even know he had.

I have a loan thur a loan company for $500 and I make monthly payments on the loan, there are times when I am unable to make the payment until payday and the loan company will call my cell phone, call my place of employment, come to my place of employment and come to my house. I have asked them many times to stop coming 2 my job as I work in a very busy hospital but they will not listen they still come up to my job about 3-4 times a week and I tell them I will pay as soon as I get payed but they still show up the next day. Do I have any rights, can I write a letter to cease, can I report this to anyone??? What are my rights. btw thanks and i know that i should pay on time but I am a single mother and sometimes other bills must come first.

i had recently been issued a ticket for selling alcohol to a minor (long story, i was not even the person taking the order) and the court date on the ticket is dec20th 2007. i know that i can't appear on that day because i've had plans for that week since july. the officer giving the ticket told me i could call and have the date changed. now i have called the court and the clerk tells me i cannot change the date for a misdemeanor. is that right? is there anything i could do?

Why is that do you think? OK i admit i am a smoker, but it's no coincidence that since the smoking ban came into effect in England on 1 July, their has been a decline in the pub industry.
It is now nearly Christmas not even 6 months down the road and their seems to be an abundance of pubs up for sale, to let or just borded up. and its not just pubs, bingo halls, bookies, indoor amusments have all seen a drop in trade and i would guess other businesses would be suffering too.

By the way i don't drink acohol, i dont go to the pub so why am i so bothered? because if i went to my local, unfortunatly i cant get in as it has closed down due to lack of custom.
Having spoken to a few ex landlords, they all seem to blame the same thing, The Smoking Ban.

So has anyone noticed the amount of Pubs that have closed or that are up to let?
Is it just coincidence?
Tell me your opinion?
Especially if you are a current or ex landlord.

http://video4people.blogspot.com is a video of a phone message from a mother to a daughter and you see the daughter's reaction and the video goes on quite painfully but it's a mixed bag as to what the ramifications of posting this are if there is no money or libel involved, just to show people there are worse phone messages than Dog Chapman and Alec Baldwin!

I have an employer that I had to quit abrubtly due to a family emergency that forced me out of town for almost a month now, and I requested a simple letter from my ex-employer to state that I quit on such-n-such date and that I quit under good terms. Just to keep in my personal file. They, however, state they do not find it necessary to do so. What can I do other than go hire a lawyer? I just want something on record so when I put this on my resume, and my next employer calls them up, they cannot say anything besides the truth of how I left. (I hope that made sense)

I had closed my checkings account a year ago and recently got a call from the owner of a restaurant saying that I had paid for a meal with a check that had innsufficient funds. Automatically, I knew that my old checkbook had been stolen. The person that stole my check had written her number on the check and coincedently turned out to be a close friend. I went to the police b/c she still had my checks and was using them. ( what gets me is how she can use my checks in stores when my account has been closed for a year?) anyways they told me that she could not go to jail because since my account was closed she didnt steal money from me, But that she does have to pay the places she used the checks on. So did the police do the right thing or should she have gone to jail. Please reply asap

Hello everybody.... I've already filed in small claims court in regards to this matter and wanted some advice.

To make a long story short... My uncle bought a car with cash.... Then I paid him back for the what he paid. He left the car in his name while I was driving but I had insurance in my name. I gave him 200.00 every month. He returned a bank receipt for the payment. The receipt from the bank had the balance total. (i.e. payment 1 of 30). Some even had the the balance leftover like $3,600.00. Well I fell on hard times and fell behind 2 months. The car was Repo-ed by him and he will not return the remaining items. I havent seen the car since repo. He still has the car, and probably wont sell. I wrote down a list of things I remembered and sent a itemized certified letter.

What is the process of small claims? I know for sure I will have to pay the amount I owed before repo - $400.00.

Will he have to pay cash or 30day order to return items? What should I do to prepare

My fiance's dad and him have the same name... His dad's bad credit is constantly going on his credit, and now there is a lawsuit on his credit for an unpaid credit card for a jewelry store...

What legal action do we have here?? I've disputed it with the credit bureaus and they said it's legitimate and is staying on his record... I've called them and they say to just mail in stuff to get another investigation going...

This is affecting us NOW... My fiance can't get a job, we can't get credit... It's pretty bad... What can we do NOW to solve this??? And is there any way we can sue to get lost wages and frustration charges...

They have accepted the terms of my insurance up until this point in my pregnancy, now they are saying that my insurance does not pay them enough for their services and may or may not see me through the full term and follow up care. Aren't they obligated to see me through to the end of this pregnancy and follow up before dropping me?

We have joint legal custody and has not allowed me to see them for over a week when he found out I have a boyfriend. I've tried calling my 15 yr old and she hangs up on me. I want to go to her school but she has asked me not to. I have called my 10 yr old and she said Dad, doesn't want me to spend the night with you. I've filed a motion w/the courts since we do not have a visitation schedule (he said we didn't have to, that we would work it out, yea, what a mistake) Anyway. is there anything I can do while I wait for the court date? I went to the police station and they can't enforce the visitation since its not in stone. His plan is to gain custody or primary residence so that he does not have to pay child support
