its 14 but this isn't over night or for a long time - just for a few hours and only if they are capable - an immature 14 year old wouldn't be a good idea to leave on their own.
Though it is up to the parents if they decide that the child needs to be older or more mature.
Going on holiday and leaving a 14 year old on their own for a week or two is asking too much responsibility from them.

I don't think there is actually a written down age when you can leave a child. It depends on the maturity. 14 does seem a little old! I would like to think I could trust my child at an earlier age than this!
After all, at 14 she can do a paper round and it is quite acceptable for her to walk up to three miles each way to school and back but I can't leave her to go out and get a pint of milk!

In the United Kingdom, it is 14 years of age, but ultimately the parents decision, seeing as nobody would really find out if you've been leaving a younger than 14 year old home alone.
I've been left home alone since the age of 9 or 10, I was fine.

it differs from each state- some have extremely regulations of a undeniable age shrink and a few are greater lenient. my state says it depnds on time on my own, climatic situations, adulthood point. and the time of day is needed. anotherwards, in case you paintings third shift something formerly the age of 15 is a no no-i left mine at abode on my own while they have been 12, the older ones watch the 8 300 and sixty 5 days previous. and interior the summertime they have strict regulations. so some distance as daycare-sure the shrink off is regularly 7, yet in the process the iciness after college is termed latch-key, maximum each elementary college has it. and interior the summertime they call it day-camp. i felt comfortable while my 2 have been 10, they have been nicely behaved and extremely mature. it additionally relies upon on how they manage one yet another if there are siblings. this is not any longer good to leave an older with the greater youthful, if the older one antagonizes them once you're there. this is going to in basic terms worsen once you're no longer. -i understand that maximum babysitting instructions are provided on the age of 12. so as that i might think of potential that a 12 300 and sixty 5 days previous, can take instructions and babysit on their very own. i in my opinion, might think of 9 is in basic terms too youthful. yet it relatively is in step with my infants the way they acted at 9. I certainly have seen alot of mature 9 years olds, and nevertheless does no longer leave them on my own.i additionally understand that if a hurricane occurs, a bad one, once you're long previous, you will get in different worry. that replaced into the foremost stipulation on illinois regulatations. in case you may desire to understand-get on the internet and pull up your state and put in "your state" regulations for being abode on my own. that's what i did and a gaggle of sites for my state got here up.
