I went to a rock gig at the sheffield hallam arena last night. I knew that i would not be able to smoke inside due to the new law. However I was amazed that they didn't operate a pass out system like other places do. I had to choose between seeing the show in its entity without a smoke or miss the whole show.I stayed but I shall not return there again. THIS WORLD HAS GONE MAD!
Do you think they had a right to hold me prisoner in this way?

I had an accident over a month ago, had to rent a car which my insurance company pays 80% of the bill. When I went rent the car, i talked to the manager and she told me that i will only pay 3 dollars a day for the car i was going to rent. I mentioned I am a college student with a tight budget and she seemed to 'understand'. She never mentioned any other money I had to pay other than the 20% of the bill. However, when I went check on the car, she tells me I owe $600 dollars in insurance for the car. She never mentioned this charge, given that I told her about my tight budget to begin with. I DID put my initials in the contract when I got the car, but it never stated that I had to pay insurance. There were a bunch of random letters such as DTW $15.55 but i figured that it was the difference that State Farm was going to pay on the car. I will return the car today, however I refuse to pay the $600 and will dispute this charge with coorporate. Can I just refuse to pay for that amount ?

Most ridiculous British law:
1. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament (27 percent)
If you are dead what are they going to do to you ? And who can control where they die
2. It is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British monarch upside-down (seven percent)
Treason seriously Treason it is a stamp I don't pay attention when I put one on as long as it is on there
3. In Liverpool, it is illegal for a woman to be topless except as a clerk in a tropical fish store (six percent) WHAT?
4. Mince pies cannot be eaten on Christmas Day (five percent)
Are you kidding why can't you eat what you want in your home when you want
5. In Scotland, if someone knocks on your door and requires the use of your toilet, you must let them enter (four percent)
I would have to go to jail because I don't let strangers in my house in this day and age they can kill you or rob you. I have not let people in my house who knocked on my door asking to use the phone because their car broke down. Sorry I see the news not getting in my house
6. A pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet (four percent)
Ok not a woman but I saw how my wife had to pee when she was I kind of like this one
7. The head of any dead whale found on the British coast automatically becomes the property of the king, and the tail of the queen (3.5 percent)
Again What
8. It is illegal to avoid telling the tax man anything you do not want him to know, but legal not to tell him information you do not mind him knowing (three percent)
9. It is illegal to enter the Houses of Parliament in a suit of armour (three percent)
WHY?
10. In the city of York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow (two percent
So it is ok to murder him out side the ancient city walls. If I were a Scotsman I would not got York ever

She is a pill addict. We argue constantly. She's starting to bring strange men in. She almost caught the house on fire last night, because of pills. I'm the one that went into debt to move into this house. She pays no bills. We got into it last week, she attacked me, so I defended myself. She then went to the ER, filed a report & threatened to take a warrant on me. I've talked to the landlord, both of our names are on the lease & they say they refuse to get in the middle of family disputes. Like I said, she's on the lease. I don't own the house, I don't think I can legally "evict" her. What can I do?

The government has passed counter-terrorism policies that have changed our society beyond all recognition.

Is it fair that the terrorists should be allowed to have the power to transform government policy without going through the peaceful political process?

Or should our society be constructed around the majority of us non-terrorists?

I am in a ghost investigation group, and we recently had to let a member go, shes disabled and it would of been a lot of work for her in the group, ex: walking, stairs, without her wheelchair and so forth. Most homes ya go into would look silly bringing in a wheekchair, anyways shes now disgruntled over the whole thing and says shes gonna sue, so if she did, she wouldnt get anything, we dont have any money for her. Sorry for the rambling, just want some thoughts on it.

I have an essay to write and the question is: What are laws and why do they apply to us?

I am curious to know your reasons. All I could think of was for the safety of others.

Ok I'm confused.
Indiana allows us to apply for a ccw license at the age of 18 - but I heard you can't actually purchase a hand gun until the age of 21????

If thats the case, do you have to have a license in order to purchase a hand gun? or do they just do a background check before u purchase it?

Do you believe our children and their attitudes and been negatively affected by the use of corporal punishment, the inability to pray in school and teachers telling them that if their parent strikes them for punishment to tell them and children's services will be notified?

I'm old school and my kids got spankings when they did something dangerous. (Not beatings) I feel that kids today feel there are no real consequences for bad behavior. So, they (not all) do what they want, have a time out, have a prized possession taken for a while or do extra chores only to do it again or something worse. I've never understood why I could get in trouble for a swat on the rear but the school felt it was fine to strike my child with a board. Could this be part of why some parents are afraid of their kids or even why kids are abusing or even killing their parents?

My argument is that privacy is more important than the freedom of press... I need to come up with things that support this.... it could be on the lines of why privacy is important... I need 3 things or somthing that the privacy would be invaded if the press did - - and - three things. If u have any other approach please tell me. here is what I have so far :

The right to produce news without any government interference cannot override a person’s right to privacy. The press is there to spread information to people which helps them analyze society and government; information that helps people to grow intellectually. The press is not there to expose the private lives of individuals in the name of news worthiness.

Pleaseeeeeeee I need some suggestions!!!! My brain has turned into cheeze! Please help me!
