My answer, hell no. What's yours? Should we really allow someone with no SS#, no Background info, no legal doc, with little or no effort to try and learn the language. I'm 3rd gen P.R. and my grandparents did everything by the book to become citizens and where they are today. It was hell, but they worked hard and did it the 'right way'.

I am looking for the laws regarding transferal of a moving contract/job between one moving company and another moving company before pickup of furniture. any information on the acutal law (or where to find it), are needed.

allow me to give you an example:

1) i book a move with xyz moving, with a home office in ca. This company is licensed with a dot and a puc number. xyz moving does not have a broker's license.
2) xyz moving company transferrs the contract to pqr moving, also licensed but without the broker's license, with a home office in ca. I am not informed of the change beforehand, and discover said change when pqr moving arrives at my home.

I would really like to know if it is legal for a moving company to book a job with me, accept a depost, then transfer the job to another company to actually move me. and which specific laws (if any), must be followed if a transfer is legal.

you can e-mail me for more details!

Please answer
r.

Is it legal for a company to tow a car that is parked in their parking lot but is located in a public shopping center? I won't say any names but I used to work for a company that had their business located next to other shops. They told us in orientation that if a car without one of their stickers in the windshield is in their parking lot they would tow it. I thought that because it was in a public shopping center they couldn't do that. And they didn't mean if it was left there over night. They patrol the parking lot on an hourly basis checking windshields for stickers. It didn't affect me either way but I was curious of anyone knew the answer.

They are required to wear a seat belt when they are in a car.
I have heard many say a woman has the right to do with her body as she wants.
I have seen some say we have to wear a seatbelt for the safty of others.
What about the safty of the unborn child? Don't tell me it is not fully developed and it doesn't matter.
If a man beats a pregnant woman and her baby dies he can be tried for murder of that baby.

Why are women allowed to kill their babies. They should have thought abput getting pregnant before they slept around.

My daughter and her friend just left their job. They have had it with this place. The owners have given bad checks to the employees and have paid them late. They are now about 4 weeks late with the pay so the two decided not to show up for work on Monday and quit. Now the owners are saying that without 2 weeks notice they can pay them at minimum wage for their last 2 weeks there.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks in advance for your answers

If a legal adult solicited a youth aged 16 or older that was emancipated, is it legal for them to have sex?

If it is legal, what makes it alright for a 16 emancipated child to have sex with a legal adult over 18 then just a regular 16 year old? Cause either way, they are both technically have the same brain capablitity.

Ive been having big problems with my landlord. I share a duplex with him. I live on oneside of the house and he lives on the other. But we have different entrances, driveways, ect. The house is completely cut off so we dont see each other.

Since I moved in (about a year ago) I keep on either catching him IN my side or theres evdience that hes been inside. With out asking. He just comes in whenever he likes. And who knows what he is doing.

Twice I've caught him in the act. I came home and he was inside. One excuse was "your cat was about to jumpout the window" (I didnt have any open windows) the other "your toilet was making a funny noise"

Other times he would come in and turn off lights.. heat/air condtioner/tv. I pay for my eletric bill and all of that.

Ive asked him to stop and he doesnt. My sister is convinced that hes going through my underwear or something like that.

Can I change the lock.. or what can I do??

Unfortunately, my mom didn't care enough to take the time to write out a will before she passed away this summer. She lived in Louisiana and owned some property there. There are 6 children and no one was named as her beneficiary. How do we deal with this without paying a fortune? And 4 of us live out of state.

A pitcher is on the baseball field and throws a ball towards a bantering fan behind a metal fence. There is a loose part in the fence and the ball goes through the fence and travels right by the fan. Does this action constitute as an assault or is it lacking "present ability?"
Sounds like a weird question but it was asked in my law class.

it is AGAINST it. The rights of the killers are always in question. What about the rights of the old couple or young woman who was tied up, raped and murdered while their family members watched? These killers get 20 years of life after robbing somebody of theirs before they get a quick death. What if they were sentenced to die as their victims had? A guy down here where I live just got off on a technicality after cutting off his THREE BABIES HEADS. His wife helped and they were high but still you cannot reattach a baby's head and expect things to work again. HE DECAPITATED THEM - ALL THREE BABIES. The youngest was 4 months old so it couldn't fight back. Neither could the 14 month old and the 2 year old. What about their cruel and unusual punishment? What is your take on baby killers, mother rapists and old lady rapist/killers? Should the devil be given breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next 20 some years as payment for killing innocent people?

I already did my w-4 and now I'm waiting for the background check to come in

2007-10-30 11:46:17 · 2 answers · asked by jay d 1

Recently I got a job offer from a college and once they got my background check completed, took the offer away due to an arrest--NOT a conviction (plus the charges were dismissed in court). Now I started a fabulous job which is a dream job and it is at another school setting up motivational speakers to visit high schools. I already started but they are conducting a background check and I am terrified history will repeat itself. Has anyone started a job, then got fired due to something in their background (arrest, conviction, etc.) What happened and what was it they fired you for that showed up on the background check? Thanks for you story.
One more question: Is there anything you did to save your job if you were about to lose it due to this??
