He can't do anything by posting it in the newspaper, he has to go to court to do that.

However, he can start the proceedings without telling you.

Yes its legal

if he can't serve you with the paperwork (unknown address or what ever), then He can have an ad about it published it in the local newspaper. If no response from that, the divorce will still be granted, it just takes time and money.

Listen Baby you are living in the united states of America,so for having a divorce process, you should communicate with your husband before he did that.
So the best you have to do,you call him and you just tell about it with him.And after his answer you should know what to do.

Yes
But I think you're only supposed to post it in the paper if he had no way to find you
Like sending a certified letter to your last known address and it being returned
so it sounds like he may have broke the law

If he had your address or place of employment he should have had your notice served to you there. They cant serve you by email. This is legal then to publish in a paper as notice of filing. You obviously now know that this is happening so you have been served notice and now you can certainly contest if you wish.

If you are hiding by not providing an address and evading detection - he can publish notice in a newspaper if the court allows it.

Yes, he is trying to post it without you contesting it then he can get out of the marriage with little protest. What you need to do is make it known that you are contesting, that is, if you want to contest it.
