I bought a vehicle from a private seller on a Tuesday, it was fine that night, Wednesday, then Thursday I had to take it to Tom Wood because it was leaking antifreeze, I dropped it off there, they called me and told me that I needed to have repairs done which cost $850, I told them to do it because I needed my car and had no other choice, so they did the repairs and I picked it up on Friday, I emailed the guy that I bought it from, he insists that there was NOTHING wrong with the car, that Tom Woods trying to rip me off (which they aren't, they showed me the piece and everything) so I email him and tell him that and he doesn't respond... There is nothing I can do besides take it to court and fork out tons of money to possibly loose because of AS IS correct?? {{I could never do this to someone, but there are some scum bags out there that do not care...}} =(

Ok, so today I went to pick my sister up from school. Well as I driving back to our house (we live less than a mile from the school) we see this cop sitting at a four way stop. Well my sister realizes she's not wearing her seat belt and decides to buckle up. As I'm driving I look in the rear view mirror and notice that he's right behind me. Then I see the lights flash, so I pull over. Now I wasn't speeding, talking on a cell phone, running stop signs or anything. Well he comes up to the window and says that he saw my sister not wearing her seatbelt!!! He asks for my license, and well, I didn't have it on me. I know stupid. Then I couldn't find proof of insurence anywhere. So anyway, I was sure I was gonna get a ticket and was totally ready to accept it. Then he decides to give my sister the citation and told her she'll have to appear before a judge in two months. Do you think this sounds completely unfair?

In the case of O.J. Simpson; How does one get aquitted of a crime and found "not guilty" by a jury of 12 people then later through a "civil" suit found "liable" for the deaths of these 2 people and be order to pay restitution to the family members for what happened. Isn't that like being tried twice for the same crime? Either you did it or you didn't. How can you be found not guilty in one, then guilty in another? Doesn't that make him "guilty" for these crimes?

I recently bought a laptop on ebay for $2,200. I paid through paypal and everything seemed to be fine. Then suddenly, for some reason, ebay cancel the auction for some reason. The seller said the only way for him to ship me the laptop is to claim a dispute through paypal and close it. And so I did. But I haven't heard back from him yet. If he ends up not following through what he said he was going to do, what can of legal action can I take? I have his information and home address. How much would legal fees cost me?

Okay this is a weird situation...my father passed away in June and his wife decided to move out of the house and on the day she was supposed to move she died. So since then I have checked my fathers mailbox everyday because I am responsible for his estate. The wife was moving in with her sister. Well today my sister got home and found two envelopes stuck in her door with my dad's address on it with a fowarded address on it, and one envelope had been opened. So the wife has been dead for two weeks now and the sister has not called to let me know that she has my fathers mail. I called her tonight to find out who took those two envelopes to my sisters house and the sisters son answered the phone and said there was no mail coming to that address which i know is a lie because on the envelopes it has that address where they are staying. So my question is because they are getting my fathers mail and flat out told me a lie about having it, is it considered mail tampering?

We are being charge for towing and storage fees from the tow yard when the police recovered our stolen vehicle. It was found in a persons backyard and when the officer called us on a friday at 8:30pm, my husband asked if he can come pick up the truck, officer said no he has to tow it because he has to book it. No one told us we would have to pay for the towing and storage fees. All the officer said was " you have to go down to the FMT police tomorrow and we will give you the release form and you take that to the tow yard and you can pick up your truck" . We went to the police and signed/received the release form and I asked the clerk is there a charge when we go there to thetow yard? she said no you just take this release form and pick up your truck. Arrived at the tow yard they told uswe have to pay for the towing and storage fees. Police are stating yes it's our responsibilty. Is there anything we can do legally and hold the police or thief responsible for the charges??

Hi, hope I can get some help with this. I have the standard three names, i.e. 'Jim' and 'Bob' and surname such as 'Redneck'. I use my second name, 'Bob', causes a LOT of problems as on most things, checks, driver's license, etc, it shows my first name, 'Jim'. Can I just omit the first name and sign 'Bob Redneck' and state I have no first name legally? Thnxs, Signed 'My Name Is Bob' :-)

I am currently working at a bank of america as a teller, and I reallly hate it. I've told my manager that I want to quit, and that I need to cut back my hours, and only work one week. She has told me that I am legally bound to work for the next 2 weeks, and at the schedule they've already given me. Isn't it just a courtesy to leave a 2 week notice? If there are any Bank of america workers out there, can you tell me where I can find this info? I really just want out, and could they force me to work there? Any answers would be much appreciated
