If you put up $5000 saying you guarantee that the person will appear in court, and they do not appear, you lose your money.

You can notify the police that they have skipped out on the bail, and the police will try to arrest them for you, but if they're not in time for the court date, you lose your money.

Don't bail out people you're not sure will appear in court.

If you mean jail, then yes the state can file a motion to have the bond forfeited to the state (or prosecuting agency). If you did not pay a cash bond, you could be required to pay up. The court normally would give you time to find and produce the person (hence bounty hunters).

Ultimately if the person is not produced, the bond is paid.

If you guaranteed the $5000 you could be on the hook for it. Report it to the court, and the police. You may be able to hire a bail bonds man who will send a bounty hunter after her, or go after her yourself.

Are you serious? Of course you are going to lose every dime of your money if your convict skips on you. Your signing a contract that says she will be your responsibility. If she skips out or "runs away" she will be taking a big 5000 crap on you. You will lose every dime. Thats what a bond is.

Not only will you more then likely lose youre money they'll probably come after you as well, for in your signing you've actually stated you paid for that persons freedom on a promise that, that person will show up for a future court date.

You better report her to the police and the bonding agency. Do you watch Dog the bounty hunter?

That is what bond money is all about. The person shows up for court, you keep your money. They don't show up....the court keeps it and uses it to hunt you down with Dog the Bounty hunter.

you will lose your money. the whole point of putting up a bond is to ensure her return. If she doesn't return you lose it.

you'll lose it, cuz you trusted her enough, and the courts trusted you....the fact of the matter is, if the court can't have her, they will def keep the monies.
