In some states in the United States they still enforce the Napoleonic law of property. In NC and LA, a woman may have her name on a deed but in order to transfer property, she must have spousal or male family member permission to do so. This makes her little more than the property she is trying to transfer. Your thoughts on the matter. Should a woman have to ask permission to sell what is rightfully hers (and no comments on prostitution, okay, this is a legitimate question)?

Charlatans say there cannot be any right without duties. How, then, Human Rights are there without any corresponding Human Duties.
Are sub humans entitled to Human Rights?

This is a hypotheical question. Normally, if I am laid-off through no fault of my own, I get unemplyment benefits. However, if my employer files for bankrupcy, am I still entitled to any unemployment (or any possible appropraited other) benefits, either from my employer, the state and/or federal government, or any other source? Thanks

My boyfriend was at a party 2yrs ago with his best friend and his best friend's 16yr old brother. they fell asleep and the adults who gave them alcohol woke them up and told them they had to leave. they debated on who should drive and my b/f decided to. they went off a cliff and the 16yr old died. this was 2yrs ago. the court case is finally wrappin up. he is still best friends with the boys brother and the family of the boy doesn't want him to serve any jail or prison time, they think the adults should. The DA won't meet with the family or go after the adults. My b/f feels so guilty all the time and hasn't drank since then, he has chosen to do a blind plea (even though the family of the boy doesn't want him to) where he says he's guilty of manslaughter. he's goin to jail for 45 to 90 days where he will wait for the judge to decide further punishment. What do you think the judge will decide to do?

I'm old enough to remember young girls having to resort to the "back ally" or a European holiday. I suspect that the pro-life advocates are promoting unenforcible laws, unless they are planning to resort to police state tactics. In my opinion, the cause of most abortions are of two kinds. Fear of public censure i.e. loss of status and loss of income i.e not enough to support quality of life. Unless the pro-life advocates are willing to deal with cause and effect, their efforts will be fruitless as well as destructive.

knowingly or negligently or because of unawareness or circumstances and remain unnoticed ,uncomplained & unharmed????

I had an accident at work over a month ago which resulted in putting my back out and being off work for a month. A length of time they were not happy with.

While off I never signed the accident book and the information was put in via HR. I went for a return to work interview after being told I could go back to work, at which time my contract (as I was on probation) was terminated. I still wasn't given the chance to sign the book.

I have tried to get in touch with my previous employer regarding signing it, but they haven't returned my calls. Do I have to sign it in order to make a claim even if it is a few years down the line. Or will what HR put in the book be enough.

I am quite confused on how it all works.

Thanks

As the Internet becomes more pervasive in all areas of human endeavor, individuals or groups can use the anonymity afforded by cyberspace to threaten citizens, specific groups (i.e. members of an ethnic group or belief), communities and entire countries, without the inherent threat of capture, injury, or death to the attacker that being physically present would bring.

As the Internet continues to expand, and computer systems continue to be assigned more responsibility while becoming more and more complex and interdependent, sabotage or terrorism via cyberspace may become a more serious threat.

The father of my niece called and said my sister did drugs, and they also said there were multiple reports of child abandonment. My sister volunteered to take a drug test, and they refused. They gave my niece to her father who is an illegal immigrant who isn't even on the birth certificate. There was no investigation, or report of findings, or a court hearing or anything their own pamphlet said was proper procedure. We called a couple of lawyers that did a free intial consultation and the number your supposed to call if you don't agree with how your case was handled, and nobody had called back. It's been over a month now, and the father won't let my sister see my niece, she's only 2 and has never been away from her mom. He has mentioned taking her to Mexico. We already went to the court house to file for custody and they said she needed to establish paternity first. Please help, anyone know anything?
