I have a friend who works at the movie theatre and constantly complains about having to stand and tear tickets w/o a break for anywhere from 5-8 hours non-stop. That seems a little extreme to me as well, and I was wondering if there was a limit as to how long an employer could make someone stay on his feet w/o a break

Lets say you are about 4 blocks away from your house, your mom is talking to you on the phone and all the sudden her ex boyfriend comes in and starts beating her up and you hear it... the phone gets hung up and you call 911 but instead of just continuing to do what you are doing -- you speed back to your house ignoring red lights and all that while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher...

Will you still get a speeding ticket or a red light violation since it was an emergency and you could probably get there before a cop?

In 2 separate instances recently, a homeowner and a car owner were shot to death when they caught criminals breaking into their respective property. If you caught someone breaking into your car or your house, would you approach them? Or would you keep your distance and call the police, suspecting that they may be armed?

If you do approach them, what do you say? "Hold on while I call the police." doesn't seem to work well. Assaulting them may wind YOU up in jail.

What is the most recommended solution in a situation like this?

A company, 10 years ago, put a new basement wall/foundation in my house/basement. I had tons of stuff in my house, so I wanted a new basement to put all the stuff somewhere. A day after the foundation and such was complete, I lined up the basement walls with shelves and such, never to see it until a month ago.

A month ago, I cleaned my basement for an estate/rummage sale, as I'm planning on moving in a year or two. After clearing the basement to the bone, I realized the wall was cracking. Along with the wall, the foundation was too.

My question is, do I have a lawsuit who installed/created the foundation/wall? A foundation should last for hundreds of years atleast, not 10 years, so I believe it was a faulty job on their part.

Do I have a case?

I am frustrated by the blackout restrictions. I live in Indiana so I'm prone to blackouts for Reds, Cubs and White Sox. When these teams are at home, I have no problem with blackout rules. When they are on the road why should I be held to a blackout when I don't live in these blackout areas. Also, do blackout rules apply if the game sells out? I am already thinking about starting a petition drive next year in front of MLB parks to protest this crap. Just gets more obnoxious every year.

I just had a Bad Experience at a Local Great Clips.
I have been going there for over 5 years.

I don't want to go into Details, but this is my Complaint Bellow:

I have been going to Great Clips for several years, now. They have always done a great job at cutting my hair. I just went to your Michigan Road store at Fortune Park, and had a very bad Experience.

I had a Long Wait, which is normal when Busy. But only one person was waiting, other than I. There were 2 girls there, and they were constantly complaining about how they had nothing to eat since Lunch.

She basically didn't cut the Top, and she said 'OK, your Done.'
That was Not what I payed for!! She said she would call the Police, if I didn't pay the Full Amount!! She was very Disrespectful!! How can I File a Complaint about this Situation?

Back in high school, my gov/econ teacher told us you can drink alcohol the night before you actually turn 21...This makes sense to me, so that people won't drink heavily between 12am-2am.

Since I'm turning 21 in a couple weeks, this information would be really helpful.

I was trying to sell my camcorder online to get money to pay the application fee for college back in May. Someone sent me a check for more than what he was supposed to pay & then asked me to cash the check & then Western Union the money back to him. He disguised himself as a woman & only called my house from the computer, so there was no way to track him down. When I went to cash the check, the clerk thought I was trying to play her for a fool, & she called the cops, & I got arrested for "forgery" that I didn't even do. I didn't know that the guy stole someone's business checks & wrote one to me. The judge said I was arrested by mistake. When I got out of jail the next day, the detective said that if this happens to me again, then it WON'T be a mistake for me to go to jail. I could've served 10 yrs. in prison for a felony charge & have to pay $10,000. Now, I don't even believe in accepting checks or money orders from people. This was my 1st experience with this.

we're not sure whether or not the baby is his or not because she's been acting really strange, she's about to have the baby in october and she hasn't been going to a doctor, taking vitamins, nothing, she's 18 (he's 27), but when she was in school she play softball when she was pregnant, and they were fighting too during that time, she told him she was going to try and abort the baby herself (like in that way, she's not supposed to be playing softball when she's pregnant but nobody told her school or anything), anyway, they both broke up and he has another gf now and he signed all of his rights away almost a month ago because she threatened to hurt it if he didn't, she acts crazy, when they were breaking up she would text message or call him cussing him out and all kinds of BS., she just graduated in may and moved out of state to live with her mom, we want to know if we (me and my mom) can order a dna test and hopefully get rights to see it......

I remember back in the good ole days that when you had a credit card for say $2,000.00 and you tried to buy something for $2,001.00 it would deny you the purchase. Now that they are practicly able to get a way with charging you them EXPENSIVE over the limit fees, that they have conviniently removed any system that would stop people from goin over, and also it sure seems strange that they know you're making a purchase the moment you use the card and even the amount but yet when you call and check you're available amount of credit, it is totaly decieving and gives you the impression that you have more available credit than you realy do.

I was watching a few clips from the show on youtube because my friend had told me about it and I couldn't decide if I agreed with the tactic they were using. I am very happy they catch those sick men, but I'm not sure if displaying all of that on national television is necessary. Sure, it passes for slight entertainment, but it seems like some of the questioning and stuff is confidential material. They could do this without putting it on tv...or do you think we as people have the right to see these bastards thrown in jail?

My boyfriend and I opened bank accounts on the same day NOT joint but we had recently moved out of state together so we went in to the bank together.

Anyhow... about a week or so later he went to the bank by himself to apply for a car loan. According to him.. they asked if he had a co signer and he said that I would probably be willing to do it. They said they would run his and my credit to find out... ok that doesn't seem right to me without my permission... but then last week in the mail I got a letter from the bank saying that I had actually applied for an auto loan through them and it got denied etc... this was all without my acknowledgement or consent... this doesn't sound right to me at all...
