I just had a Bad Experience at a Local Great Clips.
I have been going there for over 5 years.

I don't want to go into Details, but this is my Complaint Bellow:

I have been going to Great Clips for several years, now. They have always done a great job at cutting my hair. I just went to your Michigan Road store at Fortune Park, and had a very bad Experience.

I had a Long Wait, which is normal when Busy. But only one person was waiting, other than I. There were 2 girls there, and they were constantly complaining about how they had nothing to eat since Lunch.

She basically didn't cut the Top, and she said 'OK, your Done.'
That was Not what I payed for!! She said she would call the Police, if I didn't pay the Full Amount!! She was very Disrespectful!! How can I File a Complaint about this Situation?

She also said that she would charge me Twice (2x) if she cut the Top!!

This is Bullshit!!!! >:(

In many cases I would recommend contacting the store manager, but as due to the over the top lousy service by the person that cut your hair, I would start with their corporate office.

Remind them this is the motto: "At Great Clips, our experienced stylists give you the look you want, every time. Because every stylist is specially trained to give you a salon-quality cut or perm, without the salon price." You didn't get what you paid for, plain and simple.

If you paid by credit card, I would also write a dispute with my credit card company, citing the above.

Below is information to contact their corporate office:

Online contact form:

Great Clips, Inc.
7700 France Avenue South
Suite 425
Minneapolis, MN 55435
952-893-9088 or 800-999-5959
Fax: 952-844-3444

If you contact them and are still not satisfied with the outcome, then file a complaint the with the Better Business Bureau, but give the company a chance to resolve the matter first.

Contact your state's cosmetology board.. Make a complaint with them. These stores needs a valid establishment license and found out that most usually don't get one. If they don't get one they don't follow the rules. The corporate head will redirect you to the store owner. I had complains about one in my area too. I called up head office and was told it's a franchise and that they have no control over it. They pretty much sell a business model to an owner. They buy it and the franchise has no quality control policies in place. It's up to each owner. So, they redirected my complaint to the owner and the owner didn't respond. That is how it's going to happen. I would suggest google search your state's website.. use keywords like cosmetology board. You should be able to figure out how to make a complaint. You can even e-mail them to ask them the whole process. Other than that nothing will happen. Great Clips is a franchise. They only care about the money. They charge the business owners a large sum of money around like $100,000 to $200,000 in total over time. I was told they have to pay $50,000 up front. Then they pay 6% of gross sales to the franchise as royalties. So, the franchise is strictly in it for the money. The owners are strictly in it for the money. No one really cares about quality until everyone stops going there and start taking their business elsewhere. If only 10 people leave... they won't care... as long there's a stream of customers coming in. Money talks in this franchise and I hope it will be the death of them. I noticed no one cares about the quality control of their services. That is what you can do to get the owners in trouble. If you report them to the state they will look into it. If they find any violations to the codes.. they will send someone to inspect the store. If they don't have an establishment license they're in big trouble. On day one they need to have this. This license puts them in a state database where the state could ever 3 years do random inspections to make sure they keep the place up to par. Most I have found don't have them. So, the state doesn't know that they exist. This allows them to violate all codes even health codes without consequences. The state assumes that such businesses would have customers that are ready to complain. That they will fill out a complaint against them. Then when they do the inspection and find this out. They will look at all violations. If they have too many then they will no longer be able to own such a store in that given state.

First, call the store manager tomorrow and if they are not available, contact the regional manager. There are so many levels of managers it's not even funny. If none of the resolves the issue, contact the Dept of Commerce in your area and file a complaint with the state against them. They will act as the median between the owners and yourself, not to mention it becomes public information against said store. Third, if all else fails, Contact the police and try to file a report of theft of services, it's a long shot, but in some states it's legal. Best of luck to you!!!

If the stylist would not fix your cut for free, then talk to the store manager and either get a free haircut or your money back. Also when you complain to the manager, make sure you identify the girl who gave you a bad cut and the hastle, too.
