Did he leave you the house in his will? If not, it goes to his next of kin and they can do whatever they want with it.

Unfortunately, if you want to experience the worst that society or family members can offer, those that survive a family members death and want what they had, are it.

The shallow and evil side of people come out when someone dies and if there is a molecule of a chance they can have their belongings, they will crap on whomever gets in their way to possessing it.

I am really sorry for your loss. But unless you were his beneficiary, his next of kin are legally in charge of his property, which includes his home. If I were you, I would either try working with them to find a way you could stay, or start finding a new place. Again, sorry you are in such a situation. You have my sympathy.

See an attorney - did your boyfriend leave a will? Does your state recognize common-law marriage? Only a licensed attorney can answer this question for certain.

By the way, I am very sorry for your loss. This situation must surely be making a sad situation even more difficult for you.

Namaste.

Does he have a will? If not, you're gone. You have rights to nothing if you're just a girlfriend. Immediate family has all the say in this matter.

if not married then they are in the right unless you can produce a will that states you are to get half of the house or all of it upon death

That's very sad, but unless there is a will, you have no rights to the property, his family does. My condolences to you dear.

You don't have the right to his home, his parents do. You should find an apartment ASAP. You two were not married so you have no right to his home.

if you can prove common law marriage such as filing taxes jointly or holding yourselves out as being married, i think common law marriage just requires you to have lived together for six months.

If your name is on the deed, you own it. If not, tough luck.
